Here for sale we have a Yamaha FGX5 Red Label Electro Acoustic Guitar in a Natural Matt finish. Built in Japan in 2023, this guitar features an all-solid construction comprising a Sitka Spruce A.R.E. (Acoustic Resonance Enhancement) top, Mahogany back and sides, African Mahogany neck and a 20 fret Ebony fingerboard with matching bridge. A set of Chrome Open Gear tuning machines are featured along with a Bone nut and saddle. An Atmosfeel Undersaddle Pickup is installed, and is wired to controls for master volume, mic Blend and a bass EQ The African Mahogany neck plays very well, with a profile which could be described as a slim 'D' filling the hand comfortably without being at all cumbersome. This promotes ergonomic thumb positioning and easy reach across the register, perfect for a wide range of playing styles and techniques. The Satin finish to the rear of the neck assists with smooth navigation of the 25" scale length, whilst the Ebony fingerboard adds a touch of luxury to the already opulent playing experience. The Traditional Western body shape and smooth lines make for an extremely easy playing experience, providing comfort in both standing and seated positions. The acoustic voice of the FGX5 Red Label is balanced and rich, providing great projection and good volume due its solid construction. The Solid Mahogany back and sides enhance the character of the tone, producing a smooth mid range and strong responsive bass that is complemented well with the brightness of the Solid Sitka Spruce top. The Spruce top projects beautifully, delivering ample volume and dynamic range whilst retaining clarity throughout. The edges of the headstock display light indentations which pierce the finish in places, most notably to the top edge of the front face. Light to mild scratching to the front face is most notable to the centre. Neck: Overall very good condition. A mild indentation to the bass side of the fingerboard is present at the 3rd fret. This can be lightly felt in the playing position for ‘thumb over’ players, but does not detract from the overall playability of the instrument. A very light indentation to the rear of the neck is seen behind the 2nd fret. The satin finish to the rear of the neck has buffed to a light gloss through regular use. Body: Overall very good condition. Light scratching and indentation to all aspects of the body is most notable around the sides of the instrument, where the finish is lightly pierced at the treble side of the lower bout. High contact areas of the body such as where the forearm rests have polished to a light gloss through regular use. The pickguard shows mild scratching consistent with playwear. Condition of Frets: The frets show light signs of use, not affecting playability. Very light denting of the frets can be seen in the early register. There is moderate material remaining for any light fret work the new owner may wish to perform. Current Set Up: Truss Rod: Fully functional. Truss rod tool (4mm hex) not included. Hardware: Fully functional with light signs of wear. Structural: No concerns or issues to note.
