1953 Gibson ES-175 Sunburst
1953 Gibson ES-175 Sunburst The Gibson ES-175 is one of the most iconic jazz guitars in history. This classic all-laminate jazz guitar was introduced in 1949 and was the first to feature a stylish Florentine cutaway. It's been played by many legendary guitarists including Joe Pass, Jim Hall, Pat Metheny, Herb Ellis and Steve Howe. Here we have a beautiful 1953 Gibson ES-175 in vintage sunburst with a single P90 pickup. Overall condition is very good but does have a long repaired crack along the side (bass side). As you'd expect from a 70 year old guitar, there's the usual wear and tear signs. The long scratch on the soundboard is just cosmetic and not a crack. It has been re-fretted and a has new bone nut. It has a replacement tune-o-matic bridge but the original rosewood one is included - though it needs re-slotting as it's pretty worn. Comes with non-original hardshell case. The original case is available but is in need of repair. Currently set up with D'Addario Chromes 13-56. It plays and sounds great.
