1999 Fender Japan Jaguar 66 Vintage Reissue Candy Apple Red
Fender offset guitars are experiencing a never-before-seen resurgence! The underdogs are back in vogue! Built in 1999 in Japan, this glorious Jag comes in Leo Fender's favourite custom colour - Candy Apple Red! And you gotta have the matching headstock on this as well! Beautiful metallic finish makes this a real head-turner. Fast and comfy C-shape neck is perfect for all your favourite weird chord voicings thanks to the short-scale design (just like all other Jaguar and Mustang models). The neck and the original frets have minimal wear, rosewood fretboard has vintage-correct 7.25-inch radius and the nut is nicely cut. Original Kluson slotted tuners with their aged chrome finish still work smoothly. Resonant and curvy alder body retains all it's original inner cavities and factory shielding. White pickguard and yellowed pickup covers provide nice contrast to that shiny Candy Apple finish. The body has a small ding on the front near the vibrato and a couple of very tiny marks on the edges, otherwise in excellent condition with no structural damage. Original single-coil pickups provide that unmistakable Jaguar twang and bark, with a broad sonic variety via the switching system. Classic Jaguar wiring consists of two separate circuits: the slider switch on the upper chrome plate controls which circuit is engaged: up for rhythm circuit, active only for the neck pickup and controlled by the roller volume and tone switches; down for lead circuit, where you select which pickups you want on or off and control the volume and tone with the main two pots. The third slider switch is lovingly nicknamed "strange switch". This sends the single of any of the pickups through an extra capacitor, that helps remove plenty of low end - quite useful for all those filthy fuzz tones! One of the most important aspects of the offset models appeal in our opinion is the vibrato system. Designed from the ground up in the late 1950s, this is very different to what you would find in a Stratocaster. Very expressive - but often misunderstood. The vibrato will only work smoothly if the bridge is rocking back and forth with it and there's enough pressure on the bridge to keep the strings in place. Long arm allows for nice access and the easy spring tension adjustment helps achieve perfect setup for any style of playing. This instrument received a full professional setup with deep body cleaning, body polish, neck deep clean, rosewood fretboard lemon oil treatment, full electronics check, truss-rod and action and intonation adjustment. Restringed with D'addario 10-46 Nickel-plated steel strings. Please note that although we put our heart and soul and also all our knowledge into every single guitar we sell, a setup is a personal preference. However, we try to get the best playability out of every guitar and set them up so you can play both rhythm and lead. We also pull them all apart to clean and check every single component and replace all unreliable parts with new ones, from dodgy pots to the whole wiring, tuners, string trees, nuts and etc. All the work done is described in detail in the listing. We make sure that every guitar we sell is problem free and take full responsibility for the accuracy of our listing descriptions. All photographs are done by a professional photographer and processed on a calibrated monitor. Some colours might look slightly different on your monitor, but we will always put the official Fender colour name in the listing description, so please study pictures of other guitars with the same colour if you are unsure. We focus on finding great quality guitars and making them reliable and inspiring to play. This guitar will be shipped around UK and EU with Parcelforce courier, safely packed into a sturdy guitar cardboard box. 24h courier service provided to UK customers.
