The RD-40VS still appears in the Saga Instruments website, along with the RD-40MS Mahogany version, but the only version which seems to be advertised in the UK currently is the RD-40CHS....personally I much prefer "Vintage Sunburst" over Cherry Sunburst" on these dobros. *** Excellent example of the Regal RD-40VS Dobro​/​Square-Neck Guitar for lap-slide style playing. Die-cast aluminum spider bridge and hard maple bridge inserts. * Saga’s patented "Power Reflex" chamber produces unsurpassed volume and tone with sound baffle plate and relatively open body cavity to allow for a big, full sound. * Fan style coverplate and tailpiece are chrome plated ____________________________________________________________ *** Excellent condition....very clean with no significant making to body or fittings, only minor normal use. *** Set-up.....Dobro Lap-Slide set-up - String height, with standard tall dobro nut @ 1st. fret is 12mm., @ 12th. fret is also 12mm. *** Strings....just fitted with D'Addario EJ42 Phosphor Bronze Resophonic Guitar 16-56 gauge strings....rather than the previous Nickel strings seen in the photos! *** There is no case included with the guitar. I may have a period (more like '50s​/​'60s, than '30s!) pressed fibreboard case to fit, but old cases of this type, are not generally very robust or well-fitting...alternative option might be a used but serviceable padded gig-bag, but a dedicated hard case with interior neck rest designed for dobro square neck may be more challenging to find. *** On my Vintage & Traditional Guitars website I have embedded a YouTube demo of same model guitar.....also some additional details, further links to YouTube videos etc. are available there.
