The connection was a bit slow, but it's nothing to worry about.

1997 Gibson Thunderbird Bass Sunburst

Vintage 1997 Gibson Thunderbird USA Sunburst 4 Bass Guitar OHSC It is in all original condition with a traditional neck through design, Gibson branded sealed machine heads and a fantastic rosewood board. The bass is in fantastic condition for its age with the only major marks being to the finish on the back of the instrument, nothing of which has broken through the finish to the wood. Playability wise the bass plays great with a nice low action and super slim neck. The truss rod works flawlessly and remains pretty much untouched other than a tweak when it arrived with us! Sound wise it is as thumping as you would expect and will certainly not disappoint if the powerful 80's rock/metal Thunderbird tone is what you are looking for. The bass is incredibly light weight for such a large instrument and comes in at a nice 9lb 1oz with a great balance on a strap and when seated. A really comfortable instrument to play and of course it looks absolutely awesome! The bass comes with its original hard shell case features the tan outer and pink lining complete with case shroud which is in fantastic condition and fits the bass perfectly. The Gibson Thunderbird stands out as the most respected of all Gibson bass guitars, and has been in production on and off since 1963. Fender's success with their solid body basses inspired Gibson's response: the Thunderbird. Designed by German auto engineer Ray Dietrich, and named after the giant bird of Native American folklore, Gibson's first 34 1/2 inch scale bass. There have been several variants, and numerous issues of the Gibson Thunderbird, and it has been discontinued at various times in the 1970s and 1980s. But today, the model is held in such esteem that it is still in, and can be considered one of the mainstays of the Gibson line
