Here for sale we have a Squier Vintage Modified Fretless Jazz Bass in 3-Colour Sunburst finish. Made in Indonesia in 2006, this bass features an Agathis body, one-piece Maple neck and a Fretless Ebonol fingerboard with white celluloid lines on the fingerboard. The hardware featured consists of a set of standard open-gear tuners and a Chrome top loading four saddle bridge. Two Duncan Designed JB101 Single-Coil Jazz Bass pickups are fitted to this bass with controls for neck volume, bridge volume and a master tone. The Maple neck plays very well, with the ‘C’ profile feeling slim and responsive making for an efficient playing experience that you would expect from Fender. The Satin finish to the rear of the neck feels pleasing under the thumb and enhances transitions up and down the neck whilst the double cut design of the body makes for great access to the higher register. The Ebonol fingerboard is pleasant under the fingers and with its 9.5” radius the neck is well equipped to accommodate any playing style. The fretless nature of this bass offers a durable and tactile playing surface whilst also providing and enhancing vibrato feel. The pair of Duncan Designed JB101 single-coil pickups in this bass deliver thick and throaty bass tones, well suited to a wide range of genres. The neck pickup is warm and round, with a robust low end, driving mids and a sparkling treble response that captures the attack of your playing excellently. The bridge pickup is brighter, and helps to push your sound forward in the mix. The edges of the headstock display moderate indentations, the most noticeable of these can be seen to the tip of the headstock. Light discoloration can be seen to the front face of the headstock. These indentations continue on to the front face towards the top edge to a lesser degree. Neck: Overall very good condition. The fingerboard displays moderate indentation across the register, this is from where the strings have made contact with the fingerboard. All other aspects of the neck display light signs of past use. This does not affect playability. Body: Overall very good condition. Light indentations which break the lacquer are present to the rear face lower bout. All faces of the body display light to mild scratching which is only visible under direct light, this is most noticeable to the front face either side of the pickups, this is consistent with regular past use.
