To celebrate their 25th Anniversary, Harley Benton released a line of Firemist instruments that use all of their premium materials, proving that they are incredibly strong contenders for the best value for money instruments on the market. Made in 2021, this bolt-on construction guitar comprises an Alder body, a Roasted Canadian Flame Maple neck, and a 22-fret Dark Laurel fingerboard. Other appointments include a Synchronized deluxe tremolo system, engraved locking tuners, chrome hardware, and a matching Firemist headstock. The Roasted Flame Maple neck sits comfortably in the hand, with the standard 'D' profile allowing for easy fretting in any register and lending itself well to a wide variety of styles. The Laurel fingerboard is pleasant to the touch, and with its 12” radius making bending and vibrato techniques a breeze, whilst offering a nice balance between comfortable chord playing and practicality for quick lead lines. The stainless steel frets enhance vibrato techniques at speed whilst also providing a rock-solid and smooth playing experience while still giving that conventional Strat feel. The pickups in this guitar offer a great versatile sound, they produce a mixture of sparkly tones with a hint of a darker undertones, whilst retaining clarity with each note. The Roswell SHR Alnico 5 Hotrail in the bridge provides a full driving mid range with the best natural harmonic overtones, and a top end that produces a crunchy edge. The Roswell STA Alnico 5 Single Coil in the middle position produces a smooth single coil sound with more output and more mids, providing bright trebles and full warm bass, and lends itself well to rhythm tones. The Roswell STA Alnico 5 Single Coil in the neck position provides a warm, rounded sound, offering a smooth tone that handles distorted tones as well as it handles clean tones.
