Here for sale we have a Yamaha TRBX504 electric bass in Translucent Black finish. Made in Taiwan in 2015, this bass features a bolt-on construction comprising a Mahogany body, 5-piece Maple​/​Mahogany neck and a 24 fret Rosewood fingerboard. This guitar is fitted with Black Nickel hardware including a top loading bridge with independent saddles and sealed tuning machines. A pair of Yamaha HHB5 Alnico V humbucking pickups are installed, and are wired to an on-board active preamp with controls for master volume, balance, 3-band active EQ and a 2-way Active​/​Passive mini-switch. The 5-piece Maple​/​Mahogany neck plays very well, with a fast, ultra-comfortable profile that feels nicely slender in the hand, encouraging ergonomic thumb positioning for easy reach in all registers. The Satin finish to the rear is pleasant to the touch, and offers a smooth and tactile surface for the thumb to rest. The Rosewood fingerboard provides a smooth & luxurious playing surface, and with its 10" radius is practical for a wide range of playing styles and techniques. The generous double-cutaway body design enhances access to the upper frets, whilst the extended upper horn helps to balance the bass on a strap. The pair of Yamaha HH5B Alnico V humbucking pickups installed this bass deliver thick and throaty bass tones, with the ample on-board controls providing the versatility for a wide range of genres. The neck pickup is warm and round, providing a robust low end, driving mids and sparkling treble response that captures the attack of your playing. The bridge pickup is brighter, pushing your sound forward in the mix. The 2-way Active​/​Passive mini-switch can be used as a boost, or simply to switch between the aggressive active tone and more mellow passive sounds. A light scratch which does not pierce the finish is present to the front face near the low E tuning machine. The front top edge shows very light scuffing. Any other markings to the headstock are difficult to discern. Neck: Overall excellent condition. Any markings to the neck and fingerboard are difficult to discern. Body: Overall excellent condition. The Matte finish has polished to light gloss texture in high contact areas such as the bass side waist and treble side of the strings, consistent with playwear. Light scratching to all aspects of the body is visible under close scrutiny as is common with satin finishes. This is most notable to the centre of the rear face. Condition of Frets: The frets demonstrate light signs of use, not affecting playability. There is considerable material remaining for any fret work the new owner may wish to perform.
