Made in Taiwan in 2006, this guitar features a set-neck construction comprising a Solid Spruce Top, Nato Back and sides, Nato neck and 20 fret Rosewood fingerboard with matching bridge. This instrument is equipped with a set of Chrome sealed tuning machines as well as Yamaha's A.R.T Acoustic Resonance Transducer and preamp system, with shoulder mounted controls for master volume, 3-band EQ, adjustable mid frequency and on-board tuner. The Nato neck plays well, with a moderately sized profile which could be described as a 'C' shape. This provides easy reach across the register and feels smooth and responsive in the hand. The Rosewood fingerboard is pleasant under the fingers, and with its 16” radius is highly practical for a wide range of musical styles and techniques. The slim profile of the body is supremely comfortable in the arms and ensures that long practice sessions or gigs are no problem. The voice of the Yamaha APX700 is well balanced and clear, with an unpronounced yet detailed low end, open mid range and sparkling top end. The Solid Spruce top projects very well, with a wide and sensitive dynamic range that retains clarity even at higher volumes. The Yamaha A.R.T pickup and preamp system faithfully convey the acoustic voice of the instrument, adding the versatility for live and recording situations whilst affording the player a host of useful on-board controls. This is most noticeable to the mid register and can not be felt under the thumb in playing position. Denting is present to the bass side of the 6th fret, only visible under direct light from certain angles. This can not be felt under the finger in playing position. There is also a small finish crack where both bindings meet on the treble side just below the nut, this does not cause structural concern. Body: Overall very good condition. Light scratching is present to the front face, rear face and lower bout side edge, only visible under direct light from certain angles. This is most noticeable across the centre of the rear face. Light denting is present to the front face and lower bout side edge, only visible under direct light from certain angles. This is most noticeable to the treble side of the lower bout side edge where light cracking is present to the finish. Condition of Frets: The frets demonstrate very light signs of use, not affecting playability. There is considerable material remaining for any fret work the new owner may wish to perform.
