Here for sale we have a Martin 000-15 in Satin Natural finish. Made in the USA in 2008, this guitar is part of Martin's 15 series, who's heritage stretches back to 1939, and continues the tradition of all-solid mahogany construction in an affordable package. The 000-15 began production in 1999, and is still available today as the 000-15m, with the name being changed in 2010. An all-solid dovetail construction is employed, and comprises a Mahogany top, back and sides along with a Mahogany neck. A 20 fret Rosewood fingerboard is featured along with a matching bridge. A Bone saddle and nut are fitted, as well as a set of sealed Chrome Martin tuning machines. The Mahogany neck plays very well, with a profile which might be described as an even 'C' shape, which is comfortable and practical across the register for a wide range of playing styles and techniques. The subtle playwear that is present to the rear of the neck adds a sense of familiarity to the playing experience which is inspiring in the hands. The traditional 16" fingerboard radius is great for both chordal and melodic playing, whilst the vintage frets provide a suitably vintage feel. The 000 body size is as comfortable in the arms as ever, reducing fatigue on long practice sessions. The Martin 000-15 has a beautifully warm and rich voice, with a pleasing mellowness to its sound due to its solid Mahogany construction. The 000 body size has long been renowned for its clear, open and uniform response across all 6 strings. Striking the perfect balance between the strong bass response and volume of the dreadnought and the intimate, balanced sound of the Parlor, the tone is well suited to both chordal and melodic playing styles. It has a rich low end with clear mids, and an unpronounced yet appealing high end. Luthier Report Our ID: 118032587010 Weight: 3.85lbs Serial: 1333693 Aesthetic Condition: Headstock: Overall very good condition. The top edge demonstrates several light to mild indentations. This is most notable to the rear edge where two indentations pierce the finish and reveal the natural grain beneath. At either side of the headstock light circular markings consistent with the use of a string winder are present beside each tuning key. Neck: Overall very good condition. The rear of the neck has buffed to a gloss through regular use. Very light indentation is apparent throughout the register of the rear which cannot be felt under the thumb in playing position. Body: Overall very good condition. The bottom of the guitar demonstrates a small chip of the wood with small cracks apparent either side, likely caused by an impact. This appears to have been glued as it does not flex and the surrounding finish has buffed to a gloss. This does not impact the sound, structure or playability of the instrument. High contact areas such as the bass side lower bout, either side of the soundhole and treble side of the instrument have buffed to a gloss through regular use. All aspects of the body demonstrate light scratching visible only under direct lighting at certain angles. The edges demonstrate light indentation around the perimeter, not piercing the finish. The rosette around the soundhole is worn at the treble side exposing the wood, and the pickguard shows mild scratching, both consistent with playwear. Condition of Frets: The frets demonstrate moderate signs of use with indentation and flattening of the crowns in the early register, not affecting playability. There is moderate material remaining for any future fret work the new owner may wish to perform. Current Set Up: Truss Rod: Fully functional. Truss rod tool (5mm hex) included. Hardware: Fully functional with light signs of wear. Structural: No concerns or issues to note.
