Here for sale we have an ESP LTD MW-Skull Michael Wilton electric guitar in Black Skulls finish. Made in Korea in 2006, this guitar has been signed by the original line up of the Queensryche. This guitar features a bolt-on construction comprising an Alder body, Maple neck and 22 Jumbo fret Maple fingerboard. Chrome hardware is fitted including a Floyd Rose and Sperzel Locking tuning machines. A pair of Duncan Designed SC-101 single coils are fitted in the neck and middle positions with a Seymour Duncan JB humbucking pickup in the bridge. These are wired to a 3-way blade switch, master volume & master tone controls. The Maple neck plays exceptionally well, with the Thin 'D' profile providing easy reach and razor sharp playability across the register. With marginally broader shoulders than a 'C' shape, the profile offers a slightly flattened area to the centre rear which encourages ergonomic thumb positioning for fast lead lines and solos. The Maple fingerboard feels luxurious under the fingers, with the 16” radius ensuring comfort for chord playing and practicality for lead lines, with the Jumbo frets providing a rock solid and durable surface for string bending and vibrato techniques. Amplified, the trio of Seymour Duncan pickups installed in this guitar make use of an HSS configuration to deliver a comprehensive and versatile range of tones. There is a surprising amount of power and aggression to be found in the neck and middle positions, but as single-coils the pickups clean up nicely too, especially in the out of phase 2nd & 4th positions. The Seymour Duncan JB humbucker in the bridge delivers thick, saturated tones that are sure to blast your rhythm playing and riffs to the front of the mix. The pickups do clean up nicely too for the quieter moments in the set, with the middle position in particular sounding particularly shimmery and clear. The controls are kept simple, allowing you to focus on your playing. Luthier Report Our ID: 124032588333 Weight: 8.15lbs Serial: W0613196 Aesthetic Condition: Headstock: Overall excellent condition. All aspects of the headstock display light signs of past use. Neck: Overall excellent condition. A very light indentation is present to the rear face behind the 3rd fret, this can only be seen under direct light and can very slightly be felt under the thumb. Any markings to the fingerboard are difficult to discern. Body: Overall very good condition. A light indentation is present to the treble side edge lower bout, this has not pierced the finish. Light to mild scratching is present to all aspects of the body, this is most noticeable to the front face treble side of the neck pickup, this has worn away part of a signature. The front face has been signed by the band Queensryche on their 2008 UK tour in Bristol (documentation is included) Condition of Frets: The fret demonstrates light signs of use, not affecting playability. There is considerable material remaining for future fret work. Current Set Up: Truss Rod: Fully functional. Truss rod tool (4mm hex) not included. Hardware: Overall very good condition.
