Here for sale we have a Sigma SDR-28 Acoustic Guitar in Aged Gloss Natural finish. Made in China in 2020, this guitar consists of a Solid Sitka Spruce top, Solid Indian Rosewood back and sides, a Mahogany neck, and a 20-fret Ebony fingerboard. Other appointments include a set of Grover Nickel Open-Gear tuning machines with Butterbean Knobs, a Ebony bridge and a matchone bone nut and saddle. The Mahogany neck plays very well, with the 'Low' profile sitting very comfortably in the hand and providing easy fretting and ergonomic thumb positioning in all registers. The Ebony fingerboard is pleasant under the fingers, offering a smooth and durable playing surface, and with its traditional 16" radius is comfortable and practical across the register. The Dreadnought body shape is comfortable in the arms, with the all-solid construction ensuring a resonant and lively experience for the player. The voice of the SDR-28 is rich and warm, the Indian Rosewood back and sides provide a silky smooth bass response that remains detailed and accurate across the dynamic range. The mids are punchy and clear, and add a warmth and clarity to the tone. The top end is sparkly and bright, adding a glistening quality to every note played on the instrument. The dynamic range of the SDR-28 is impressive. Gentle playing is rewarded with a very tender and soft tone, ramping smoothly up to the rich, loud chord strumming sound that the Dreadnought is renowned for. Light chipping is evident on the top edges of the headstock, with some marks on the edges consistent with a string winder. Neck: Overall excellent condition. There is a small indentation behind the nut on the bass side, this does not break the finish and cannot be felt underhand in the playing position. The neck heel displays light scratching. Body: Overall very good condition. The top edge displays some light scuff marks on the treble side, another very small indentation can be seen just above the bridge on the bass side. The face displays a number of small scratches and indentations consistent with moderate use. Condition of Frets: The frets demonstrate very light signs of use, not affecting playability. There is considerable material remaining for future fret work the new owner may wish to perform. Current Set Up: Truss Rod: Fully functional. Truss Rod Tool (4mm Hex) not included. Hardware: Fully functional. Structural: All 4 corners of the bridge appear to be lifting, however upon closer inspection this does not present a structural concern and we believe that this is how the guitar left the factory. The bridge is completely stable under pressure and the action is low, providing further evidence that the top is not bellying. Whilst there is minimal saddle remaining there is a shim installed meaning that small further adjustment is available.
