Gibson ES-335 'Dot' Ebony 2003 Semi-Hollow Electric Guitar

This guitar is a commission sale - if you have a high end guitar you are interested in selling, please contact us via our easy to find website - search: Sell Us Your Guitar. Here for sale we have a Gibson ES-335 'Dot' in Ebony finish. Made in the USA in 2003, this guitar features a set-neck construction comprising a laminated Poplar/Maple body, Mahogany neck and 22 fret Rosewood fingerboard. Whilst not designated as a Flame Top model, there is a very attractive Flame visible across all aspects of the body. Nickel hardware is fitted, including an ABR-1 bridge, StopBar tailpiece and Grover Rotomatic tuning machines. A pair of Gibson 'PAF' humbucking pickups are installed, and are wired to a 3-way toggle switch and independent volume and tone controls. The Mahogany neck plays very well, with the '60s SlimTaper profile feeling nicely slender and articulate in the hand and providing a smooth and responsive playing experience in all registers. The profile could be described as a 'D' shape, with a flattened area to the centre which promotes ergonomic thumb positioning. The Rosewood fingerboard is pleasant under the fingers, and with its traditional 12" radius is practical for a wide range of styles and techniques. The familiar lines of the Es-335 body are as comfortable in the arms as ever, ensuring that long practice sessions and gigs are fatigue free. Amplified, the pair of Gibson PAF humbuckers work in conjunction with the semi-hollow construction to deliver the full and thick sounds that we all expect from Gibson. The guitar resonates beautifully, filling out the sound with a deep and rich character. The neck pickup is warm and round, and can handle plenty of gain meaning you can achieve anything from jazzy lines through to soaring rock and blues solo tones. The bridge pickup is hotter, driving the front end of an amp with ease and producing the bright, biting tones that cut right through the mix to put your playing front and centre. The traditional dual humbucker control layout feels very responsive, allowing you to explore a wide tonal palette right on the instrument.
