Here for sale we have a Fender MIJ Jaguar JG-66 Electric Guitar in 3-Tone Sunburst finish. Made in Japan between 1994-1995, this bolt-on constructed instrument consists of an Alder body, a Maple neck, and a 22-fret Rosewood fingerboard. Other appointments include an aftermarket Buzz Stop Roller attachment for the tailpiece, Chrome hardware, Block inlays, vintage-style tuners, and a set of JG Single Coil pickups. These pickups are wired to traditional Jaguar controls. The 'Oval' neck profile varies from the typical ‘C’ shape, slightly flattening out as you go up the fretboard, allowing for comfortable thumb positioning on the back of the neck as you play in the upper register. Around frets 1-5 the neck is nicely rounded, and along with its vintage accurate 7.25” fingerboard radius and 24” scale length making for a very comfortable guitar to play on. The pickups are stock and are very well balanced across all frequencies. As per the 1966 spec this Jaguar is wired with 1meg pots which give you plenty of jangle. Each pickup has a dedicated on​/​off toggle switch on the lower shoulder of the guitar, along with a third ‘strangle’ switch which cuts low end, helping you to cut through the mix for pokey leads and janky rhythm playing. On the opposite side of the spectrum you have the often misunderstood and largely underused rhythm circuit. Activating this circuit selects the neck pickup and cuts treble, leaving you with a thick, dark tone which works wonders in taming overly bright overdriven tones. The rhythm circuit also pairs beautifully with ambient effects, allowing for dark and moody blooming trails that blend well in a mix. Mild indentations can be seen both at the treble side edge and the tip of the headstock, these have broken through the lacquer. All aspects of the headstock display light scratching which can only be seen under direct light as is common with high gloss finishes. Neck: Overall very good condition. The rear of the neck has been lightly sanded by a previous owner to achieve a satin finish. All other aspects of the neck and fingerboard display light signs of past use. Body: Overall very good condition. All aspects of the body have been lightly sanded by a previous owner to achieve a satin finish, with this light to mild scratching can be seen under close observation. Light to mild indentations are present to all faces of the body, the most noticeable indentations can be seen both to the treble and bass side lower bout edges, some of these have pierced the finish exposing the wood beneath. Condition of Frets: The frets demonstrate light signs of use, not affecting playability. There is considerable material remaining for any future fret work the new owner may wish to perform. Current Set Up: Truss Rod: Fully functional & adjustable. No truss rod tool included (Flathead driver) Hardware: Overall very good condition. Light tarnishing is present to the metal hardware. Light scratching is resent to the scratch plate which can be seen under direct light, this is common with regular past use in a high contact area. Tremolo arm included.
