Here for sale we have a Guild JF4 acoustic guitar in Satin Natural finish. Made in the USA, Circa. Early 1990’s. An all-solid set-neck construction is featured, and comprises a Spruce top, Mahogany back and sides, Mahogany neck and 20 fret Rosewood fingerboard with matching bridge. This guitar features black binding around the front face of the body, Multi Stripe rosette, as well as a handsome tortoiseshell pickguard. Chrome hardware is fitted including a set of Grover Rotomatic tuning machines. An after-market LR Baggs soundhole mounted acoustic pickup. The Mahogany neck plays very well, with a profile which might be described as a moderately-sized 'C' shape, which fills the hand nicely for a substantial yet easily manageable grip, well suited to both chordal and melodic playing styles. The Rosewood of the fingerboard is pleasant under the fingers, and with its 20” radius is practical for a wide range of playing techniques. The years of playing that this instrument has seen produce a real vibe and sense of history which is very inspiring in the hands. The nut width at 1.74" ensures easy reach across the register whilst maintaining ample string spacing for accurate fretting. The acoustic voice of the Guild JF4 is rich and powerful, delivering crystalline chords when strumming that would be equally at home as a solo instrument or part of an ensemble. The Mahogany back and sides produce a brightness which adds clarity to the overall tone, whilst the arched back works in conjunction with the large body and Spruce top to project exceptionally well. Our ID: 101042590170 Weight: 5.95lbs Serial: M0401J-3 Aesthetic Condition: Headstock: Overall very good condition, the front face demonstrates a chip to the bass side edge beside the A string tuning machine that reveals the wood beneath. Further chipping can be identified to the top corners of the instrument to a lesser degree. Indentation is apparent around the perimeter of the headstock, most frequently to the top edges. Neck: Overall good condition, light scratching and indentation is apparent throughout the register of both the fingerboard and rear of the neck. These markings cannot be felt under the thumb and do not affect the overall playabiity. Body: Overall very good condition, the front face lower bout demonstrates some moderate indentation which pierces and chips the finish in places. The edges of the instrument demonstrate some indentation, particularly around the lower bout. The rear demonstrates light scratching visible under direct lighting at certain angles. Condition of Frets: The frets demonstrate moderate signs of use with indentation in the early register and flattening of the crowns throughout. This does not affect playability. There is moderate material remaining for future fret work. Current Set Up: Truss Rod: Fully functional. Truss rod tool (1​/​4" socket) not included. Hardware: Fully functional with light signs of wear. Structural: The bridge is slightly lifting to the center, approx 0.2mm from the body. Using a feeler gauge, the lifting is approx 0.5mm depth.
