Gibson SG Standard '61 Reissue Heritage Cherry 1995 Guitar

This guitar is a commission sale - if you have a high end guitar you are interested in selling, please contact us via our easy to find website - search: Sell Us Your Guitar. Here for sale we have a Gibson SG Standard '61 Reissue Electric Guitar in Heritage Cherry finish. Made in the USA in 1995, this set-neck constructed guitar consists of a Mahogany body, a Mahogany neck, a 22-fret Rosewood fingerboard. Other appointments include Nickel hardware, Schaller "Gibson Deluxe" tuning machines, an ABR-1 Tune-O-Matic bridge, and a set of Gibson '57 Classic Humbucking pickups. These pickups are wired to two volume controls, two tone controls, and three-way pickup selector. The Honduran Mahogany neck plays fantastically, with the 1961 Slim Taper "D" profile feeling nicely slender in the hand and offering a smooth and responsive playing experience across the register. There is no question that the top frets are much more easily accessible than on a Les Paul, with the slim neck heel and double-cutaway design opening up the full register of the instrument. Traditional 12" fingerboard radius is paired with medium jumbo frets to provide a playing surface which is comfortable and practical for a wide range of styles and techniques. The pair of Gibson 57 Classic humbuckers installed in this guitar are well regarded by Gibson players for their versatility. Whilst the hard rock tones you would expect from an SG are clearly present, the pickups also offer a nice smooth and rounded tone that is suitable for a wide range of styles. Country and Blues players will like the bite of bridge pickup, whilst the warmth of the neck position can be appropriate for jazzy sounds, especially when rolling down the tone control. Independent volume and tone pots offer comprehensive control of your sound. Our ID: 1140525100230 Weight: 7.45lbs Serial: 90205553 Aesthetic Condition: Headstock: Overall very good condition, the front face demonstrates light scratching and scuffing, most notable towards the middle of the face between the low E and A machine head. The top edges demonstrate scratching and indentation, with chipping to the rear corners of the headstock. Nitro checking is apparent to all aspects of the headstock, particularly behind the nut and to the front face. The rear of the headstock demonstrates a series of moderate indentations behind the nut. Neck: Overall very good condition, several chips are apparent to the rear of the neck, revealing the wood beneath. These can be felt under the thumb in playing position. Further scratching and indentation is apparent throughout the register. The fingerboard demonstrates some tooling marks alongside the frets which cannot be felt under the string. Body: Overall good condition, the front face demonstrates consistent light scratching and indentation, most notable beside the pickups continuing both upwards onto the bass side horn and down towards the lower bout. The top clear coat has worn through slightly to the treble side horn and waist, with some further early signs of finish wear apparent discoloring the top coat slightly. The edges of the guitar demonstrate indentation, most notably to the bottom edge and treble side waist where a notable indentation chips the finish. The rear face demonstrates consistent buckle rash in various spots, some of these wearing slightly through the top coat of finish. Finish cracking is apparent surrounding the neck joint, which is expected of nitro set neck instruments of this age. Condition of Frets: The frets demonstrate notable signs of use with indentation in the early register and flattening of the crowns throughout. This does not affect playability. There is a small amount of fret material remaining for future fret work. Current Set Up: Truss Rod: Fully functional. Truss rod tool (5/16" socket) not included. Hardware: Fully functional with moderate signs of wear, most notably oxidation to the bridge and stop bar. Structural: No concerns or issues to note. Height of the string from the 12th Fret-1.5mm - Bass 2mm Please be aware that the action on a guitar may move slightly in transit and this measurement is the current height. Strings on Guitar - 10-46 Electrics: Fully functional. Case & Accessories Original Gibson hard case The case demonstrates moderate signs of use with tearing of the tolex and stickers to the exterior. The interior appears well maintained and demonstrates little signs of use.
