Gibson Embossed Logo Patent Sticker T-Top c.1971 Vintage

This item is a commission sale. If you have a high end guitar or other musical equipment you are interested in selling, please contact us. Here for sale we have a pair of Vintage Gibson Embossed Logo Patent Sticker PAT T-Top humbucking pickups. Made in the USA in c.1971, these pickups were featured in many early '70s Gibsons such as the SG Deluxe and ES-335. The PAT NO. sticker to the bottom, original solder and therefore the likely presence of a 'T' molded onto the pickup bobbin indicate the pickups were made between '68 & '75, whilst the embossed logo was only available for a very limited time and discontinued in 1972. Renowned for their warm round tonal characteristics, these pickups provide a seriously sweet harmonic complexity and crystalline clarity. Their smooth attack adds a grind when the amp is pushed into distortion, with defined trebles and a rounded, warm character to the tone, highly evocative of the classic '70s rock tone that these pickups helped to create. With clean settings the pickups deliver a glistening sweet sound that can only be described as crystal clear. The neck pickup has some real bite, enabling it to take charge of those fast lead lines and thunderous power chords.
