Here for sale we have a Fender Jim Adkins JA-90 Thinline Telecaster in Transparent Black. Built in Mexico in 2009 this guitar was designed with Jim Adkin to capture an authentic alt-rock pop-punk Telecaster style. This guitar features a set-neck construction comprising a Semi-Hollow Ash body, Maple neck and 22 fret Rosewood fingerboard. This instrument is fitted with a 6-saddle Vintage-Style Adjusto-Matic with Anchored-Tailpiece, skirted amp knobs and 3-Ply black pickguard. The pickups installed are a pair of Seymour Duncan p-90s, with a SP90-1N RWRP Vintage P90 in the neck and a SP90-3 Custom P90 in the bridge. These are wired to a 3-way toggle switch and independent volume and tone controls. The Maple neck plays very well, with its ‘Modern C’ profile feeling nice and flat making for easy manoeuvres whilst still feeling traditional. The Gloss finish makes for a soft surface that makes for swift and responsive playing. The Rosewood fingerboard feels smooth and durable under the finger, and with its classic 9.5” radius strikes a perfect balance of comfortable chord playing and practicality for lead lines and string bending. The Medium Jumbo frets offer a rock solid playing surface whilst enhancing vibrato feel. Acoustically this guitar has excellent resonance, with a nicely loud and airy tone. The pair of Seymour Duncan P90s sound balanced and sweet, with plenty of warmth and sparkle in the neck delivering big fat sounding chords that bloom and a gritty open tone in the bridge perfect for single note lines to shine through the mix.
