Here for sale we have a PRS SE 245 Soapbar electric guitar in Transparent Black finish. Made in Korea in 2004 this guitar features a set-neck construction comprising a Mahogany body, a Mahogany neck and a 22 Medium Jumbo Rosewood fingerboard. This guitar is fitted with a PRS designed Wrap-Around tailpiece and a set of Grover tuning machines. The pickups featured are a pair of PRS SE Soapbar pickups, these are wired to a 3-way pickup selector, master volume and a master tone. The Mahogany neck plays well, with the ‘Wide Fat’ profile filling the hand whilst also feeling dependable. The Gloss finish to the rear assists with smooth navigation of the 25" scale, whilst the single-cutaway body design with customary sculpted lower horn enhances access to the upper frets. The Rosewood fingerboard is pleasant under the fingers, and with its 13.75" radius provides a nicely flat and consistent playing surface in all registers. The Wilkinson WVPC tremolo bridge is very practical, allowing for both dive and lift whilst providing excellent tuning stability. The pair of PRS SE Soapbar pickups installed in this guitar deliver thick and smooth tones, well suited to a wide range of genres and playing styles. There is plenty of warmth and roundness in the neck position, perfect for solo tones or shimmering clean sounds. The bridge position is brighter and slightly hotter, meaning that you can easily cut through the mix with biting rhythm tones, or achieve a twangy clean sounds for country and blue licks. The simple control layout offers comprehensive control of your sound without being intrusive to the playing experience. All aspects of the headstock demonstrate light scratching under close scrutiny, as is common with a high gloss finish. Neck: Overall excellent condition. The rear of the neck demonstrates light scratching under close scrutiny, as is common with a high gloss finish. Body: Overall very good condition. All aspects of the body demonstrate moderate scratching under close scrutiny, as is common with a high gloss finish. There is an indentation towards the bottom of the front face on the treble side, which does not expose the wood beneath but has lightly cracked the lacquer. The bottom edge demonstrates an indentation on the rear side which does not expose the wood beneath. There are several deeper scratches surrounding the cavity control plate, none of which break the finish. Condition of Frets: The frets display mild indentations and flattening of the crown, not affecting playability. There is substantial material remaining for any future work the new owner may wish to perform. Current Set Up: Truss Rod: Fully functional. Truss Rod Tool (7mm Wrench) not included. Hardware: Fully functional and very good condition. The original PRS tuning machines have been replaced with a set of Grovers, the originals are not included. The pickup covers demonstrate some scuff marks, whilst the metal hardware is beginning to show light oxidisation. Structural: No structural concerns to note.
