Here for sale we have a D’Angelico EX-SD electric guitar in Cherry Sunburst finish. Made in Korea in 2013, this guitar consists of a chambered solid body made of carved Indonesia Mahogany with a flamed Maple top, Mahogany neck and 22 fret Rosewood fingerboard. Other appointments include a stopbar tailpiece, Grover Super Rotomatic tuning machines and two Kent Armstrong humbuckers that are wired to independent volume and tone controls and a three-way pickup selector. The Mahogany neck plays well, with a moderately-sized profile which might be described as a slim 'D' shape thanks to the slightly flattened area to the centre. This provides a comfortable place for the thumb to rest while playing, perfect for reaching those tricky chord voicings and breezing through smooth lead lines and solos. The Gloss finish to the rear assists with smooth navigation of the 24.75" scale, whilst the cutaway improves access to the upper register. The Rosewood fingerboard is pleasant under the fingers, and with its 12" radius is equally practical for chordal and melodic playing. The pair of Kent Armstrong humbucking pickups installed in this guitar deliver thick, throaty and full-bodied tones. The bridge pickup has beautiful clarity, allowing for shimmering trebles to ring through whilst the middle position blends the best of both pickups to create a smooth and well-defined voice. The neck position has rounded, creamy tones that are great for chordal phrasings or quick jazz lines, with the extensive controls offering plenty of room for tonal shaping. All aspects of the headstock display light scratching which can only be seen under direct light as is common with high gloss finishes. Some slight discolouration is present to the binding at the top edge. Neck: Overall excellent condition. There are some very light scratching and extremely light indentations under close scrutiny, these can only be seen under direct light. Body: Overall excellent condition. The rear face demonstrates some light scratching consistent with 'buckle wear'. All aspects of the body display light scratching which can only be seen under direct light, as is common with high gloss finishes. Condition of Frets: The frets display minimal signs of use with substantial material remaining for any future work the new owner may wish to perform. Current Set Up: Truss Rod: Fully functional.
