Here for sale we have a Fender Highway One Jazz Bass in Wine Transparent Satin Nitrocellulose finish. Made in the USA in 2004, this bass features a bolt-on construction comprising an Alder body, Maple neck and 20 fret Rosewood fingerboard. This instrument is fitted with Chrome hardware including a Gotoh 4-saddle bridge and vintage-style open-geared tuning machines. A pair of Fender Jazz Bass Single-Coil pickups are installed, and are wired to independent volume controls along with a 'Greasebucket' master tone control. The Maple neck plays very well, with Fender's popular Modern 'C' profile filling the hand nicely for a substantial grip across the register whilst remaining easily manageable in all positions. The Rosewood fretboard is pleasant under the fingers, and with its 9.5" radius is practical for a wide range of playing styles and techniques. The frets appear to be medium jumbo, and certainly provide a rock-solid playing surface with a smooth and comfortable action for string bending and vibrato techniques. The pair of Fender Jazz Bass Single-Coil pickups installed in this guitar deliver classic original-era tone and power, with smooth rounded lows, clear and open mid range and a sweet treble response that captures the attack and aggression of your playing. The simple control layout offers comprehensive control of your sound without over complicating things or getting in the way of the playing experience. The 'Greasebucket' master tone control is a special feature introduced by Fender to reduce the increase in bass frequencies associated with rolling the tone down. This means that you only wind back the high end when you turn the tone down. Our ID: 1310525104900 Weight: 9.55lbs Serial: Z4173237 Aesthetic Condition: Headstock: Overall very good condition, the edges of the headstock demonstrate consistent indentation, chipping the finish towards the top. The finish surrounding the truss rod plug has delaminated. All aspects of the headstock demonstrate light to moderate scratching and indentation, not affecting playability. Neck: Overall good condition, the rear of the neck demonstrates moderate indentations that chip the finish throughout the register. These markings can be felt under the thumb in playing position. Body: Overall fair condition, the body of this instrument has been amateurly reliced, and demonstrates visible sandpaper scratching throughout the entire body. Large sections of finish have been sanded away and indentation is apparent along the bottom edge. We advise studying the photographs carefully for an accurate representation of this instrument. Condition of Frets: The frets demonstrate light signs of use, not affecting playability. There is considerable material remaining for future fret work. Current Set Up: Truss Rod: Fully functional.
