Gibson CS Mark Knopfler ’58 Les Paul Std VOS Made in USA Serial Number MK121 The Gibson Custom shop make incredible replica’s of the guitars that were around in 1950’s and this recreation of Mark Knopfler’s very own 1958 Les Paul in as much detail as possible is one of the best artist models.. The Custom Historic range has gone to the enth degree, even going as far as replicating the same plastics that were originally used in the 50s. Not only that, but Knopflers own guitar would have gone through a type of X Ray machine to pick up all of it’s unique traits and characteristics. With a stunning burst and a slightly plainer top than you would find on the 59’s (although the top on one is stunning) the guitar just oozes class and sounds superb with a set of PAF Custom Bucker pickups. These are lovely, low output pickups that will easily give that sweet Les Paul tone. The bridge pickup especially is so creamy! All of the run of 150 VOS spec as well as the aged and signed versions were quite a specific weight range, this one weighs in at 8lbs 2oz. The guitar is in completely original condition, no marks, dings and is best described as mint condition complete with all original paperwork and tags. Super collectible, rarely marketed for good reason, they are just that good!
