Here for sale we have an Epiphone Gothic 1958 Explorer FR Electric Guitar in Satin Black finish. Made in Korea in 2005, this set-neck constructed guitar consists of a Mahogany body, a Mahogany neck, and a 22-fret Rosewood fingerboard. Other appointments include Grover tuners, a Licensed-by-Floyd Rose Epiphone Tremolo system, and a pair of Epiphone Open Alnico Classic Humbuckers that are wired to two independent volume controls, a master tone control, and a three-way pickup selector. The SlimTaper 'D' profile neck with Gloss finish sits comfortably in the hand, allowing for quick and easy navigation of the neck and ergonomic thumb positioning. The 12" radius provides a nice balance between comfortable chording and practicality for lead lines, whilst the Medium Jumbo frets aid with vibrato techniques. The 'X' shaped body provides excellent access to the upper frets whilst not being too cumbersome in both the seated and standing positions. The pair of Epiphone Open Alnico Classic humbuckers sound thick and raw, with a solid output that pushes the front end of an amp nicely. The neck pickup is full, warm with added tightness, the midrange is perfectly balanced and easily cuts through any mix. The bridge pickup produces a biting tone which easily cuts through the mix for those rock rhythm sounds and has a great harmonic register. A versatile guitar that can cover a lot of different styles. Our ID: 1310725121880 Weight: 8.45lbs Serial: U05012332 Aesthetic Condition: Headstock: Overall very good condition. The tip and treble side of the headstock displays indentations which have slightly exposed the wood. All aspects of the headstock display light to mild scratching with the most noticeable being apparent to the treble side of the rear face. The satin finish has been lightly polished to a gloss appearance in certain areas, this is common with regular past use on satin finishes. Neck: Overall very good condition. The satin finish to the rear of the neck has been polished to a gloss appearance, this is common with moderate past use on satin finishes. Mild scratching can be seen to the rear of the neck at the 1st fret, these can be felt slightly in the playing position. With this light scratching is also present to the rear of the neck across the register, these can be seen under direct light. Light chipping to the finish is present to both the bass and treble sides where the neck meets the body, this is not structural. Body: Overall good condition. Heavy finish wear is present to the front face bass side waist, this has exposed the wood beneath. All aspects of the body display light or mild chipping and indentations some of which have exposed the wood beneath, The satin finish has lightly polished to a gloss appearance in certain areas, this is common with regular past use on satin finishes. Condition of Frets: The frets demonstrate moderate signs of use, not affecting playability. Light denting and flattening of the frets is apparent throughout the register. There is moderate material remaining for any fret work the new owner may wish to perform. Current Set Up: Truss Rod: Fully functional. Truss rod tool (4mm hex) not included. Hardware: Overall very good condition. Glue residue is present to the pickup rings. The tone control knob has been replaced and displays light discoloration.
