Here for sale we have an MTD Kingston-5 Electric Bass Guitar in Translucent Blue finish. Made in China in 2009, this bolt-on constructed guitar consists of an Ash body, a Maple neck, and a 24-fret Maple fingerboard. Other appointments include an MTD quick release bridge, and sealed tuning machines. This bass has been fitted with an aftermarket Bartolini humbucking pickup with controls for a master volume and 3-band EQ. The Maple neck and 'D' profile allow you to navigate the Maple fingerboard with ease, allowing for comfortable reach in all registers and promoting ergonomic thumb positioning. The 16” radius provides a comfortable playing surface and with the 1.7” nut width allows for ease of different techniques such as slap bass or chordal playing. The Satin finish is fantastic for smooth, quick transitions up and down the neck whilst the double cutaway body design allows the player to have unobstructed access to the entire register. The amplified tone of the Kingston-5 is unmistakable. There is a deep and rich low end growl, with punchy mids and a snappy treble response which blends perfectly into a wide range of musical settings; filling out the low end of the mix and capturing all the attack and sparkle of your playing. The on-board active preamp offers comprehensive control of your sound, with 3-band EQ and master volume controls which allow you to dial in your perfect tone right on the instrument. Our ID: 1020825122451 Weight: 8.15lbs Serial: MTD09080297 Aesthetic Condition: Headstock: Overall very good condition. A moderate chip to the finish is present to the treble side front face near the G tuning machines, this has exposed the wood beneath. Light scratching is present to the front face which can be seen under direct light. Very light indentations are present to the top edges of the headstock, these can be seen under close scrutiny. Neck: Overall very good condition. Slight discoloration is present across the register of the fingerboard, with this, light circles can be seen where a previous owner had applied fret marker stickers. The rear of the neck displays light scratching across the register, these can only be seen under close scrutiny and can not be felt in the playing position. Body: Overall very good condition. A moderate chip to the finish is present to the inside edge of the treble cutaway, this exposes the wood beneath. A mild chip to the finish is present near the pickup, this has not exposed the wood beneath. Discoloration is also present near the pickup, we have been unable to remove this. All aspects of the body display light scratching and light indentations none of which break the finish, these can be seen under direct light. The most noticeable scratching can be seen to the bass side of the pickup consistent with regular past use. Condition of Frets: The frets demonstrate moderate signs of use, not affecting playability. Light denting and flattening of the frets is apparent to the early register. There is moderate material remaining for any fret work the new owner may wish to perform. Current Set Up: Truss Rod: Fully functional & adjustable. No truss rod tool included (hex 4mm) Hardware: Overall good condition. Moderate tarnishing and oxidation of the finish to the metal hardware is present, the most apparent of these can be seen to the tuning machines. The volume control knob has been swapped by a previous owner. Structural: No concerns or issues to note. Height of the string from the 12th Fret-2mm - Bass 2.5mm Please be aware that the action on a guitar may move slightly in transit and this measurement is the current height. Strings on Guitar - 45-100 Electrics: Fully functional. A previous owner has replaced the original pickup with a Bartolini, the original is not included. Case & Accessories MTD Gigbag.
