Fender Standard Precision Bass Olympic White 1996 Bass
Here for sale we have a Fender Standard Precision Bass Electric Bass in Olympic White finish. Made in Mexico in 1996, this bass consists of a Poplar body, a Maple neck, and a 20-fret Rosewood fingerboard. Other appointments include Standard Open Gear tuners, a 4-Saddle Top-Loading bridge, and a Standard P-Bass Split Single Coil pickup that is wired to a volume and a tone control. The Maple neck plays very comfortably, with Fender's ‘C’ profile filling the hand reassuringly whilst still allowing for comfortable reach in all registers. The double cutaway body design offers easy access into the upper register. This works well with the smooth finish to the rear of the neck which allows for smooth navigation of the 34” scale. The Medium Jumbo fret wire combined with the 7.25” radius provides a rock solid feel under the fingers and is practical for a wide range of playing styles and techniques. The Standard Split Single-Coil pickup installed in this guitar delivers a great fundamental bass tone, which is apparent as soon as you plug the instrument in. The low end is thick and full-bodied, ensuring that your bass playing fills out the mix nicely. The mids are punchy and clear, whilst the sparkly top end captures all the spank and attack of your playing, keeping you in the front of the mix. The simple controls offer comprehensive control of your tone without over-complicating things. Light to mild indentations are present to the front face edges of the headstock, the most apparent of these can be seen near the D tuning machines. The satin finish to the rear of the neck has been polished to a gloss texture, this is common with regular past use. Any markings to the fingerboard are difficult to discern. Body: Overall very good condition. Light to mild indentations are present to the body, the most noticeable of these can be seen to the bass side waist edge where the lacquer finish has cracked but does not expose the wood beneath. Light to mild scratching is also present to the body with the most apparent being seen to both the treble side horn, bass side lower bout edge and treble side lower bout edges, these have discolored the finish. Discoloration of the finish is present to the rear face, consistent patterns can be seen under scrutiny where the body has been lent against something for a long period of time.
