Here for sale we have a Fender Classic Series 50s Esquire in White Blonde finish. Made in Mexico in 2005, this guitar features a bolt-on construction comprising an Ash body, Maple neck and 21 fret Maple fingerboard. This instrument is fitted with Chrome hardware including a 3-saddle vintage-style string-through-body Tele bridge and vintage-style split post tuning machines. An aftermarket 'Hot-Rail' style stacked humbucking pickup is installed in the bridge position, and is wired to master volume and tone controls. The Maple neck plays very well, with the ‘C’ profile feeling moderately sized in the hand and providing a smooth and responsive playing experience in all registers. The Gloss finish to the rear assists with smooth navigation of the 25.5” scale, whilst the 7.25" radius ensures a suitably vintage feel to an instrument equipped with so many period-correct '50s features. The vintage style frets further enhance this authenticity, and paired with the gloss finished Maple fingerboard provide a smooth and durable playing surface. The familiar Telecaster body shape is as comfortable as ever, with well set out controls and '50s style single ply pickguard. The solitary 'Hot-Rail' style stacked humbucking pickup in the bridge position does an excellent job of providing all of the Tele ‘twang’ that you could possibly want whilst thickening up the sound to help you cut through a mix. The pickup is nice and hot, meaning you can easily drive the front end of your amp for a searing tone. The simple control layout offers comprehensive control of your sound without intruding on the playing experience, making this instrument perfect for the guitarist looking to strip their set-up back to the fundamentals. Some delamination of the finish is apparent surrounding the ferrule for the D machine head on the front face. The top edge demonstrates some scuffing that we have been unable to remove through regular cleaning. The bass side lower corner near the 6th E tuner shows a light chip which has lightly cracked the finish. Neck: Overall very good condition. The fingerboard demonstrates a chip to the finish indenting the wood on the treble side edge between the nut and the 1st fret. At the treble side edge of the 5th fret, the finish has chipped very slightly revealing the wood which has discoloured. More notable chipping of the finish exposes the wood at the end of the fingerboard beyond the 21st fret. This is most notable on the treble side. Light indentation is apparent throughout the register of the rear. These markings cannot be felt under the thumb. Body: Overall very good condition. The front face demonstrates a moderate indentation between the control plate and the treble side edge that pierces the finish. The bass side lower bout front edge demonstrates wear through the finish revealing the wood beneath. Both corners of the neck pocket demonstrate finish cracking common with bolt on necks. This does not affect the structural stability of the instrument. The rear demonstrates very light scratching and indentation visible only under direct lighting at certain angles. The rear of the neck heel demonstrates a finish crack and some attempt at repair, with a matte finish resulting. Condition of Frets: The frets demonstrate moderate signs of use, not affecting playability. There is a small amount of material remaining for future fret work. Current Set Up: Truss Rod: Fully functional. Truss rod tool (flathead driver) not included. Hardware: Fully functional, the bridge plate demonstrates mild oxidation. Structural: No concerns or issues to note. Height of the string from the 12th Fret-1.75mm - Bass 2mm Please be aware that the action on a guitar may move slightly in transit and this measurement is the current height. Strings on Guitar - 10-46 Electrics: Fully functional. The pickup has been changed for an unbranded ‘hot rail’ type pickup. The original is not included. Case & Accessories: ‘Road Runner’ rectangular hard case included. The case shows moderate signs of use, with some tape to the exterior and a wall missing from the interior pocket. The case protects the guitar as intended. No truss rod tool included.
