Here is a vintage Gibson Natural Les Paul Standard built at Gibson’s USA Nashville plant in 1979. It’s a great looking old dark teardrop sunburst Standard. Most you see from this period are bright clowny looking cherry bursts that burn your eyes. This one looks a lot better with the dark vintage sunburst finish. All still all factory spec and playwear commensurate with age with amber plastics and the binding turning yellow which looks great against the dark sunburst finish. Dead straight 3-peice neck with volute, truss rod checked and functioning fine, plenty of life left in the frets. Absolutely no mods, breaks or repairs. Has plenty of wear as you can see I in the pictures, dings, scratches and a stick shadow on the back etc. Some paint loss on the back of the neck behind the 9th fret but it is not sharp or uncomfortable at all. Whilst edges are feelable they are very soft and smooth. The hand just runs over the area feeling a slightly shallow indent. The neck sits somewhere between a ’59-‘60 and low smooth action. Weight is very light of a 70's Gibson Les Paul in at 4kg. Complete with Gibson black tolex hardcase, not original to the guitar and be warned it smells very musty! But it is clean and latches and combo-lock are working fine. I’ll let the pics tell the rest of the story. It’s a real old warrior.
