Up for grabs is this rare and very cool vintage 1986 Japanese built Ibanez Artist AM-205 in Antique Violin finish. We specialise in vintage MIJ guitars & don’t get these very often. This was the top model of the time and was built in Japan for Ibanez somewhere between to move from FujiGen Gakki to Terada. Based on the others we have had in I think this was a FujiGen build. It’s a stunning looking guitar featuring a compact, semi-hollow, double cutaway body design with an arched, burl mahogany top with ƒ holes and ivory multi-binding on burl mahogany back and sides with a maple center block mated to a set-in mahogany neck with a 22-fret ebony fingerboard with ivory binding and pearl and abalone split block position markers with "SUPER EDITION" inlay at 21 fret. Components include a pair of Ibanez Super 58 humbuckers. It has all gold hardware and individual volume and tone controls, ivory plastic pickup rings, a Tune-o-matic style Gibraltar II bridge, a Quik Change II tailpiece, a bone nut, a black pickguard, Sure Grip II knobs, and VelveTune tuning machines. It has some wear as you'd expect from such an old guitar with plenty of bumps and scratches and the binding showing some age related wear. The neck is dead straight, truss rod fine & plenty of life left in the frets. Structurally and electrically sound. No issues at all. The little specs you can see on the guitar are just case fibres, these old Ibanez hardcases are epic fibre shedders! All in all a beautiful and very rare Japanese hollowbody guitar.
