Here for sale we have a Charvel Desolation DS-1 FR electric guitar in Transparent finish. Made in China in 2012, this guitar features a thru-body construction comprising a Mahogany body with a Flame Maple veneer top, through-body Mahogany neck and 24 Rosewood fingerboard. This instrument is fitted with a Floyd Rose tremolo system and Charvel sealed tuning machines. A pair of Seymour Duncan AHB-1 active humbucking pickups are installed. These are wired to a 3-way blade switch and independent volume and tone controls. The 'Fast Neck' feels well balanced and comfortable in the hand and offers a nicely slim and manoeuvrable playing surface across the register. The hand-rubbed Satin finish to the rear of the neck provides an incredibly smooth and ergonomic feel which allows the player to effortlessly glide up and down the fretboard. The 12"-16" compound radius makes both chordal and lead playing comfortable as the fretboard gets flatter towards the upper register. This ensures comfort for chord playing in the lower register and practicality for string bending as you climb the neck. This is further enhanced by the Jumbo frets which improve the feel of vibrato and string bending techniques. The Seymour Duncan pickups installed in this guitar deliver huge screaming tones that project a deep bass and punchy mids, as well as a searing bright treble to help you cut through the mix. The neck pickup produces a thick, rounded sound tone with plenty of power for your solos and lead lines. The bridge pickup is of course brighter, and with a higher output drives the front end of an amp into a beautifully saturated distortion. The simple control layout offers comprehensive control of your tone without being intrusive to the playing experience. Our ID: 107052598822 Weight: 7.8lbs Serial: CJC1200620 Aesthetic Condition: Headstock: Overall very good condition. Light indentations are present to the top edge of the rear face, these can only be seen under close scrutiny. The front face displays light scratching most noticeably around the A tuning machines, these can only be seen under direct light as is common with high gloss finishes. Neck: Overall excellent condition. Very light lateral scratching is present across the register to the fingerboard, these can not be felt in the playing position. Any other markings are difficult to discern. Body: Overall very good condition. All aspects of the body display light scratching which can only be seen under direct light, the most noticeable of these can be seen to the center of the rear face. A light indentation is present to the rear face treble side near the waist, this has lightly pierced through the the finish but does not expose the wood beneath. Condition of Frets: The frets demonstrate light signs of use, not affecting playability. There is considerable material remaining for any future fret work the new owner may wish to perform. Current Set Up: Truss Rod: Fully functional. Truss rod tool (4mm hex) not included. Hardware: Overall very good condition and fully functional. Light to mild tarnishing can be seen to the bridge, this is common with regular past use in a high contact area. Three of the control knobs have been changed, the originals are not included. Height of the string from the 12th Fret-1.5mm - Bass 2mm Please be aware that the action on a guitar may move slightly in transit and this measurement is the current height. Strings on Guitar - 9-42 This guitar demonstrates mild fret noise which is not apparent when amplified. This noise does not affect sustain of notes, nor does it affect bending the notes.
