Here for sale we have a Charvel Desolation Skatecaster SK-1 FR Electric Guitar in Trans Black finish. Made in China in 2011, this bolt-on constructed guitar consists of a Mahogany body with a Flame Maple veneer, a Mahogany neck, and a 24-fret Rosewood fingerboard. Other appointments include a Floyd Rose locking tremolo bridge, Black Chrome hardware, a locking nut, and a set of EMG EM81​/​85 active pickups that are wired to a master volume, and a three-way pickup selector. The Mahogany feels well balanced and comfortable in the hand with the ‘Speed Neck’ profile offering a slim feel with the Satin finish to the rear of the neck providing an incredibly smooth and ergonomic feel, allowing the player to effortlessly slide up and down the register. The 12"-16" compound radius makes both chordal and lead playing comfortable as the Rosewood fingerboard gets flatter towards the upper register, providing the player with a solid grip for blistering solos, accentuated by the Jumbo frets which enhance bends and vibrato techniques as the strings glide over the silky frets. The pair of active EMG humbucking pickups sound huge, producing super beefy tones projecting a deep bass and punchy mids well. The EMG EM85 neck pickup delivers a thick, rounded sound that adds an in depth warmth and clarity to each note whilst the EMG EM81 bridge pickup provides a high mids focused tone that cuts through the mix well while it retains a thick humbucking sound. The sonic range of the guitar is perfect for hard rock and metal and the simplistic layout provides a great ‘plug in and go’ instrument. Light lacquer cracks are present to the treble side of the truss rod cover front face, these pose no structural concerns. All other aspects of the headstock display light signs of past use. Neck: Overall excellent condition. The neck and fingerboard display lights signs of past use. Body: Overall excellent condition. Very light scratching is present to all aspects of the body which can only be seen under direct light as is common with high gloss finishes. Condition of Frets: The frets demonstrate light signs of use, not affecting playability. There is considerable material remaining for any fret work the new owner may wish to perform. Current Set Up: Truss Rod: Fully functional. Truss rod tool (4mm hex) included. Hardware: Overall very good condition.
