Here for sale we have a Duesenberg Starplayer TV in Vintage Orange finish. Duesenberg is a German company now known for their Art Deco designs. Founded in 1986 in Hannover, the company initially focussed on the heavy metal market which was dominant at the time. As tastes changed, they pivoted towards the designs they are known for today. 1995 saw the introduction of the Starplayer which was the predecessor of the company's most popular model, the Starplayer TV. Made in Germany in 2005, this instrument features a set-neck semi-hollow construction comprising Laminated Maple back & sides, Laminated Spruce top, 1pc Maple neck and 22 fret Indian Rosewood fingerboard. Nickel hardware is fitted including a Duesenberg Diamond Deluxe Tremola & Z-Tuners. A pair of Duesenberg pickups are installed, with a Domino P90 in the neck and a GrandVintage humbucker in the bridge. These are wired to a 3-way blade switch and master volume & tone controls. The Maple neck plays very well, with the Medium 'D' profile feeling nicely slim and manageable in the hand for easy playability across the register. The gloss finish to the rear of the neck assists with smooth navigation of the 25.5" scale , whilst the single cutaway body design enhances access to the upper frets. The Indian Rosewood of the fretboard is pleasant under the fingers, and with its 12" radius is practical for a wide range of playing styles and techniques. The Duesenberg Diamond Deluxe Tremola offers Bigsby-style tremolo flutters whilst retaining excellent tuning stability. The pair of Duesenberg pickups installed in this guitar deliver an exciting and unique range of tones that work well in a wide variety of musical settings. The Domino P90 in the neck is warm and raw, delivering a tone that is thicker and grittier than a single coil, but that retains clarity and chime on clean sounds. The GrandVintage humbucker in the bridge is of course hotter, delivering a searing output that saturates into a thick distortion when driving the amp. The semi-hollow construction of the body ensures a sensitive dynamic range that is responsive to the player's touch. A notable chip to the bass side rear tip of the headstock exposes the wood beneath. Light scratching to all aspects of the headstock is visible under direct light, as is common with high gloss finishes. Neck: Overall excellent condition. Very light scratching to the rear of the neck is visible under direct light, as is common with high gloss finishes. Any other markings to the neck and fingerboard are difficult to discern. Body: Overall very good condition. A light to mild indentation which lightly pierces the finish is present at the bass side upper bout near the ‘D’. Light scratching to all aspects of the body is visible under direct light, as is common with high gloss finishes. This is most notable at the treble side waist on the side of the instrument, and to the rear face near the neck heel. Condition of Frets: The frets demonstrate light signs of use, not affecting playability. There is considerable material remaining for any fret work the new owner may wish to perform.
