Here for sale we have a Epiphone EB-3 electric bass in Gloss Cherry finish. Made in 2009 this bass features a set-neck construction comprising of a Mahogany body, Mahogany neck and a 22 Medium Jumbo fret Rosewood fingerboard. The hardware featured consists of a 3-point top loading Bridge and a set of open gear tuning machines. This bass is fitted with a NYT Bass Mini Humbucker in the bridge and a Sidewinder Humbucker in the neck, these are wired to a 3-way selector switch and individual volume and tone controls for each pickup. The Mahogany neck plays very well, with the SlimTaper ‘D’ profile sitting very comfortably in the hand and offering ergonomic thumb positioning and easy reach in all registers. The 1.4” nut width is perfect for those with smaller hands or guitarists moonlighting as bass players. Certainly, the register feels highly manoeuvrable, with the gloss finish to the rear further assisting with smooth navigation of the fretboard. The 12” radius Rosewood is supremely pleasant under the fingers and allows for a variety of bass techniques to be played with ease. The pickups installed in this bass deliver powerful, full-bodied bass tones that will add serious depth to any band's sound. The Sidewinder Humbucker in the neck position drives the sound, offering a warm yet accurate bass response and punchy mids. The NYT Bass Mini Humbucker in the bridge position captures the bright overtones, allowing you to cut through the mix very effectively, helping you to create a percussive and rhythmic sound for the rest of the band to lock in with. The 3-Way selector switch pickup selector switch offers the player to select either each pickup individually or both together, which when paired with the responsive independent volume and tone controls offers a really versatile set of sounds. Moderate indentation is present to the top edge of the headstock, this has chipped away the finish exposing the wood beneath. All aspects of the headstock display light scratching which can be view under direct light, this is common with high gloss finishes. Overall very good condition. The rear of the neck display light to mild scratching and indentations to the finish. The most noticeable of these can be seen to the center which have exposed the wood beneath. all light indentations can be slightly felt under the thumb on the playing position. Any markings to the fingerboard are difficult to discern. Overall good condition. All aspects of the body display light to moderate scratching and indentations. The most noticeable indentation can be seen to the bass side edge lower lout where the indentations have broken and chipped the finish. Another noticeable indentation can be seen around the input jack where the finish has come away exposing the wood beneath, this does not affect the structure. A noticeable scratch can be seen tot the front face bass side horn. All light scratching can be seen to all aspects of the body which can be viewed under direct light as is common with high gloss finishes. Condition of Frets: The frets demonstrate very light signs of use, not affecting playability. There is considerable material remaining for any fret work the new owner may wish to perform. Current Set Up: Truss Rod: Fully functional & adjustable. Not truss rod tool included (hex 4mm) Hardware: Overall very good condition. All aspects of the hardware display light to moderate oxidation and tarnishing, this is common with nickel hardware and regular past use. The neck pickup displays an indentation to the bass side, this is from a string being pressed against the cover previously. Structural: The neck has pulled forward over time, causing a change in neck angle from the body. This affects playability in the very upper register causing some fret buzz in the E and A strings.
