Here for sale we have an Epiphone G-400 Electric Guitar in Cherry finish. Made in Korea in 1998, this set-neck constructed guitar features a Mahogany body, a Mahogany neck, and a 22-fret Rosewood fingerboard. Other appointments include vintage-style tuners, a tune-o-matic bridge, a stopbar tailpiece, and two Epiphone humbucking pickups that are wired to two independent volume controls, two independent tone controls, and a three-way pickup selector. The Mahogany neck sits pleasantly in the hand, whilst the ‘D’ profile neck offers a comfortable and dependable grip, and with its Gloss finish allows for quick and easy navigation of the neck and ergonomic thumb positioning. The 12" radius provides a nice balance between comfortable chording and practicality for lead lines, whilst the rosewood fingerboard feels smooth under the fingers offering a pleasant surface to navigate on. The double cutaways provide excellent access to the upper frets and the Medium Jumbo fret wire provides stability, giving you plenty to work with when bending. The Epiphone humbuckers sound thick and raw, with a solid output that pushes the front end of an amp nicely. The neck pickup is full, warm with added tightness, the midrange is perfectly balanced and easily cuts through any mix. The bridge pickup produces a biting tone which easily cuts through the mix for those rock rhythm sounds and has a great harmonic register. The simple control layout offers comprehensive control of your tone whilst also allowing for easy tone sculpting. Our ID: 12511234251 Weight: 6.8lbs Serial: I98040322 Aesthetic Condition: Headstock: Overall very good condition. The top edge to the rear face displays noticeable indentation, this has chipped away the finish slightly exposing the wood beneath. A noticeable chip to the finish is present near the low A tuning machine, this has left an indentation to the finish. The front face displays light scratching which can be seen under direct light, this is common with high gloss finishes. Neck: Overall very good condition. Finish over spray can be seen to the rear of the neck at the bass, this is from a previous owners attempt to do finish touch up. With this the finish texture is uneven and can be slightly felt under the thumb in the playing position. Body: Overall good condition. A previous repair of the neck joint is visible, this has been carried out to an amateur level. The repair has been stress tested and presents no structural concerns. Around the repair, over spray is present from the previous owner's repair; this has left a dull, uneven texture. Screw holes are present to the front face from where a pick guard was fitted previously. Black paint markings can be seen near the bridge pickup ring, we have been unable to remove this. All aspects of the body display light to mild scratching and indentations, the most noticeable indentations can be seen to the front face lower bout where they have broken through the finish. The most noticeable scratching can be seen to the treble side edge waist. Condition of Frets: The frets demonstrate light signs of use, not affecting playability. There is considerable material remaining for future fret work. Current Set Up: Truss Rod: Fully functional & adjustable. No truss rod tool included (hex 4mm) Hardware: Overall very good condition. Light tarnishing and markings can be seen to the metal hardware, the most noticeable tarnishing can be seen to the pickup covers. The original scratch plate was missing from the original owner. Structural: No concerns or issues to note. Height of the string from the 12th Fret-1.5mm - Bass 2mm Please be aware that the action on a guitar may move slightly in transit and this measurement is the current height. Strings on Guitar - 10-46 This guitar demonstrates mild fret noise when bending the 17th fret high E string which is apparent when amplified. This noise does affect the sustain of notes and bending the notes. The new owner may choose to raise the action to alleviate this. Electrics: Fully functional.
