Built in Indonesia at the dawn of the century, this guitar features a set-neck construction comprising a Mahogany body, Mahogany neck and 22 Medium Jumbo fret Rosewood fingerboard. This instrument is equipped with Gold plated hardware including a Tune-O-Matic bridge and a StopBar tailpiece along with a set of Wilkinson Deluxe tuning machines. The Pickups are a trio of Epiphone Alnico Classic Plus humbuckers, these are wired to a 3-way selector, bridge volume, middle volume, neck volume and a master tone control. The Mahogany neck sits comfortably in the hand, with the ‘C’ profile feeling slender, providing a smooth and articulate playing experience. The Rosewood fingerboard feels pleasant under the fingers and provides a smooth playing surface for the user to explore, along with the 12” radius and Medium Jumbo frets making bending and vibrato techniques a breeze. The familiar lines of the body feel great in the arms, feeling sprightly on the shoulders with the 6 lbs weight. The double cutaways offer the user unobstructed access right up the register, allowing the user to make the most of this rock and roll classic. The Epiphone Alnico Classic Plus humbucker in the neck position sounds thick and full, with a rich low end great for rhythm tonalities. The Epiphone Alnico Classic Plus humbucker in the middle position provides a punchy, tight midrange great for chordal styles of playing whilst being able to cut through a mix. The Epiphone Alnico Classic Plus humbucker in the bridge position produces a clear and articulate top end, balancing very well with a punchy output, providing a great feel and clarity, allowing the player to achieve a wide variety of tones all at the fingertips. Our ID: 1310725122010 Weight: 7.45lbs Serial: I00012545 Aesthetic Condition: Headstock: Overall very good condition, the top edge demonstrates indentation and scuffing, piercing the finish slightly to the rear. The front face demonstrates consistent light scratching causing a slight hazing of the finish under direct lighting at certain angles. Slightly more notable scratching can be identified surrounding each tuner post. Neck: Overall very good condition, hairline cracking and discoloration is apparent to the binding around the fingerboard. This is securely attached and should not worsen. The rear of the neck demonstrates several light to moderate indentations piercing the finish slightly. This is most notable behind the 17th fret on the treble side. These indentations can be felt beneath the thumb in playing position but do not really impact the overall playability of the instrument. Body: Overall very good condition, all aspects of the body demonstrate consistent light scratching and indentation. Almost all of these markings are only visible under direct lighting at certain angles. The exceptions to this are as follows - an indentation to the rear bass side waist edge, buckle rash to the center of the rear face, indentation to the treble side waist piercing the finish. Large finish cracks are apparent either side of the neck, however these have been tested under pressure and do not flex. Condition of Frets: This instrument has had a level and re-crown to ensure improved playability. There is a small amount of material remaining for future fret work. Current Set Up: Truss Rod: Fully functional. Truss rod tool (4mm hex) not included. Hardware: Fully functional with moderate signs of wear, most notably the pickup covers tarnishing.
