Here for sale we have an Epiphone Sheraton Semi-Hollow Electric Guitar in Tobacco Sunburst finish. At the time this guitar was manufactured, serial numbers and country of manufacture were placed on the guitars using stickers. As the stickers have fallen away before the guitar had got to us, we are unable to confirm the year or country, but we assume this guitar is late 80's​/​early 90's and built in Korea. This guitar features a set-neck construction comprising a Laminated Maple body with centre block, 5-piece Maple neck and 22 Medium Jumbo fret Rosewood fingerboard. This guitar is fitted with Gold hardware including Tune-O-Matic bridge, StopBar tailpiece and a set of sealed tuning machines. The pickups fitted are a pair of Epiphone humbuckers, these are wired to a 3-way selector, bridge volume, bridge tone, neck volume and a neck tone control. The Gloss finish neck plays very well, with a profile that resembles a ‘D’ sitting comfortably in the hand and providing a smooth and responsive playing experience in all registers. The Rosewood fingerboard is pleasant under the fingers, and with its 12” radius offers a perfect balance between easy chord playing and practicality for lead lines and string bending techniques. The semi-hollow construction gives the guitar a nice open and resonant feel, while keeping unwanted feedback at bay. The semi-hollow body delivers unique acoustic features. It achieves a delicate balance between body resonance and resistance to feedback, this results in an organic vocal quality that is tactile and responsive to the player's touch. The pair of aftermarket Seymour Duncan humbucking pickups sound thick and chunky with rich lows, tight, punchy mids and crisp, clear highs. The round and thick tone of the neck position is well complemented by the hotter, brighter bridge pickup which provides all of the bite needed for hard rock lead lines. The simple control layout offers comprehensive control of your sound without being intrusive to the playing experience. Our ID: 1060625106463 Weight: 7.7lbs Serial: N​/​A Aesthetic Condition: Headstock: Overall very good condition, the front face demonstrates very consistent light scratching causing a slight hazing of the finish under direct lighting at certain angles. Very light indentations are apparent around the perimeter of the headstock, not piercing the finish. Neck: Overall very good condition, a small patch of consistent light scratching is apparent to the rear of the neck in the middle register. This can be slightly felt under the thumb but does not affect the overall playability of the instrument. The binding demonstrates age related cracking throughout the register on both sides of the neck, typical with this construction. The fingerboard demonstrates light markings difficult to discern from the natural grain. Body: Overall very good condition, all aspects of the body demonstrate very light scratching and indentation. These markings are infrequent and can only be identified under direct lighting at certain angles. Condition of Frets: The frets demonstrate moderate signs of use, with indentation in the early register and flattening of the crowns throughout. This does not affect playability. There is moderate material remaining for future fret work. Current Set Up: Truss Rod: Fully functional. Truss rod tool (4mm hex) not included. Hardware: Fully functional with moderate signs of wear. The nut has been replaced for bone to an acceptable standard. The scratchplate displays signs of 'warping'. Structural: No concerns or issues to note.
