Here for sale we have a Fender American Special Telecaster in 3-Colour Sunburst finish. Made in the USA in 2014, this guitar features a bolt-on construction comprising an Alder body, Maple neck and 22 fret Maple fingerboard. Chrome hardware is fitted, including a 3-Brass-Barrel-Saddle Vintage-Style string-through-body bridge and Fender Standard​/​Sealed tuning machines. A pair of Fender Custom Shop Texas Special Telecaster single-coil pickups are installed, and are wired to a 3-way toggle switch, master volume and master tone controls. The Tone control features Fender's Greasebucket circuitry which rolls off high frequencies without adding bass. The Maple neck plays very well, with Fender's popular Modern 'C' profile filling the hand nicely for a substantial yet articulate grip across the register. The Maple fingerboard is pleasant under the fingers, with its open-pore finish providing a smooth and durable playing surface right the way up to the 22nd fret. Its 9.5" radius is practical for both chordal and melodic playing; balanced perfectly between comfortable chord playing and practicality for lead lines and solos. The Jumbo frets provide a rock-solid feel under the fingers whilst enhancing the feel of string bending and vibrato techniques, as well as reducing the pressure needed to fret a note for a speedier playing neck. The pair of Fender Custom Shop Texas Special Telecaster single-coil pickups installed in this guitar deliver warm, vintage-inspired tones, perfect for bluesy riffing and country licks. The Enamel-coated wire, alnico V magnets and staggered pole-pieces work in conjunction with an overwound output for a seriously warm, hot and well balanced output, with a midrange bite, crystalline highs and tight bass response. There's plenty of 'Tele Twang' in the bridge position which works perfectly for searing distortion tones and articulate lead lines. Fender's Greasebucket tone circuit eliminates the issue of adding bass when rolling down your tone control; simply dialling back the top end without beefing up your lows. There is a small chip on the rear edge of the bass side upper hole revealing the wood beneath. The bottom of the rear face of the guitar demonstrates some light hazing of the finish. The bass side edge demonstrates a small white scratch and 2 small indentations which do not break the finish. The upper treble side demonstrates one very small indentation which does not break the finish. Condition of Frets: The frets demonstrate a mild flattening of the crown not affecting playability. There is substantial material remaining for any future work the new owner may wish to perform. Current Set Up: Truss Rod: Fully functional. Truss rod tool (1​/​8" Hex) not included. Mild fret noise is apparent between the 5th and 9th frets on the bass strings, raising the action will help to alleviate this.
