Here for sale we have a Fender Buddy Guy Standard Stratocaster in Polka Dot finish. Made in Mexico in 1997, this guitar features a bolt-on construction comprising an Alder body, a Maple neck and 21 Medium Jumbo fret Maple fingerboard. The hardware featured on this guitar consists of a 6-Saddle Vintage-Style Synchronized tremolo bridge and a set of Vintage-Style tuning machines. A trio of American Standard Stratocaster single-coil pickups are installed, these are wired to a 5-way blade switch, master volume, neck and middle tone controls. The Satin Maple neck plays very well, with the Soft ‘V’ profile sitting very comfortably in the hand and promotes ergonomic hand positioning, feeling smooth whilst providing an articulate playing experience. The Maple fingerboard is pleasant under the fingers and offers a tactile and durable playing surface, with the 9.5" radius working in conjunction with the Medium Jumbo frets to produce an authentically vintage playing experience, allowing for vibrato techniques and complex chordings to be played with ease. The Fender Standard Stratocaster Single-Coils pickups provide all the classic Stratocaster tones that you coil wish for. The bridge pickup provides bright and glistening trebles with plenty of spank, power chords sound gritty, whilst also providing soaring lead tones. However, with subtler amp settings the bridge offers a bright, glassy clean tone. The middle pickup produces bright trebles and full warm bass, and lends itself well to rhythm tones. The neck pickup has rounded creamer tones great for chordal phrasings or quick jazz style lines, whilst also handling higher gain settings masterfully, offering plenty of room for tonal sculpting. Neck: Overall excellent condition, it is difficult to discern any markings to the neck and fingerboard. Body: Overall very good condition, a finish crack is apparent to the rear running from the top of the neck plate to the neck pocket. This has had a previous finish repair, performed to an acceptable standard. This does not affect structure and is only finish deep. All aspects of the body demonstrate light scratching visible only under direct lighting at certain angles. Condition of Frets: The frets demonstrate light signs of use, with some flattening of the crowns throughout the register. There is moderate material remaining for any fret work the new owner may wish to perform. Current Set Up: Truss Rod: Fully functional. Truss rod tool (3​/​16" hex) not included. Hardware: Fully functional with light signs of wear. Slight warping of the pickguard can be seen to the bass side near the neck pickup, this is common for plastics on a guitar this age. The metal hardware displays light to mild tarnishing of the finish. Tremolo arm not included. Structural: No concerns or issues to note. Strings on Guitar - 10-46 Height of string from 12th Fret- Treble 1.5mm - Bass 2mm Please be aware that the action on a guitar may move slightly in transit and this measurement is the current height. This guitar demonstrates mild fret noise which is apparent when amplified, this happens when bending the high E string from the 12th fret upwards. This noise does affect the sustain of notes.
