Here for sale we have a Fender CIJ JM-66 Jazzmaster Electric Guitar in Burgundy Mist Metallic finish. Crafted in Japan between 1999-2002, this bolt-on constructed guitar consists of a Basswood body, a Maple neck, and a 21-fret Rosewood fingerboard. Other appointments include a 6-saddle adjustable bridge, floating tremolo tailpiece and vintage-style split post tuning machines. There are two Jazzmaster Single Coil pickups installed that are wired to the standard Jazzmaster controls. The Maple neck plays very well, with the 'U' shape profile filling the hand nicely for an authentically vintage-inspired yet articulate playing experience across the register. The Gloss finish to the rear assists with smooth navigation of the 25.5" scale, and along with the offset body design and generous cutaway the full 21 fret range of the instrument is easily accessible. The offset body is supremely comfortable in both standing and seated positions, and allows for convenient placement of the extensive controls, ensuring that everything is within easy reach without being intrusive to the playing experience. This JM66 has been fitted with two Jazzmaster single coil pickups. These pickups really add to the guitar's vintage flavour with a bright and nicely refined '60s Jazzmaster tone. There are glassy cleans and a crisp high-end which provides all of the Jazzmaster 'jangle' that you could wish for. On the lead circuit, the neck pickup is warm and round whilst remaining clear. The bridge pickup is of course brighter, capturing all the 'snap' and attack of your playing without sounding brittle. The rhythm circuit provides a darker tone, making this a very versatile instrument that works well in a variety of musical settings. Our ID: 108052598920 Weight: 8.15lbs Serial: P050598 Aesthetic Condition: Headstock: Overall very good condition, the front face demonstrates a chip to the top edge, revealing the wood beneath. Further scuffing is apparent to the top edge that does not pierce the finish. A small indentation is apparent beside the high E tuner on the rear face. Further light indentation is apparent to the rear treble side edge, piercing the finish very slightly. Neck: Overall very good condition, the rear of the neck demonstrates very light scratching and indentation throughout the register which cannot be felt under the thumb and is visible only under direct lighting at certain angles. The fingerboard demonstrates light indentation in the early register which cannot be felt under the strings. Small sections of finish delamination and discoloration is apparent to the fret tangs, which is typical for an instrument of this age. Body: Overall excellent condition, it is difficult to discern any markings to the body. Condition of Frets: The frets demonstrate light signs of use, with some light indentation in the early register quickly improving as you climb the neck. Strings on Guitar - 10-46 When bending the high E beyond the 14th fret, some notes choke and do not sustain. This can be alleviated by raising the action should the new owner choose to do so.
