Fender Classic Series '70s Jazz Bass Black 2010 Electric Bas
Here for sale we have a Fender Classic Series '70s Jazz Bass in Black finish. Made in Mexico in 2010, this guitar is based on the '70s specification of the Jazz Bass, including the slightly relocated bridge pickup, broader shoulders in the neck profile, neck binding and attractive block Pearloid fingerboard inlays. A bolt-on construction is employed, and comprises an Alder body, Maple neck and 20 fret Rosewood fingerboard. Chrome hardware is fitted including a 4-Saddle American Vintage bridge & Fender '70s Vintage-Style Stamped open-gear tuning machines. A pair of Fender Vintage-Style Jazz Bass single-coil pickups are installed, and are wired to independent volume controls & a master tone. The Maple neck plays very well, with the '70s 'C' profile filling the hand nicely for a substantial yet articulate playing experience across the register. The 'shoulders' of the profile feel a little broader than some of Fender's other 'C' profiles, which adds a sense of dependability and character to the instrument. The neck binding and block inlays are a rather unique twist for a Fender instrument, providing a sense of exclusivity whilst helping you stand out from the crowd. The smooth lines of the offset Jazz Bass body are as comfortable in the arms as ever, providing uninhibited access to the upper register and feeling nicely balance in both standing and seated positions. Amplified, the pair of Fender Vintage-Style Jazz Bass single-coil pickups deliver thick and full bodied bass tones, with plenty of deep lows and a driving mid range that is sure to lay a solid foundation in any mix. The middle position is of course nicely round and warm, whilst the bridge position is bright and spanky, perfectly capturing all of the attack and sparkle from your playing. The independent volume controls allow you to blend the pickups in any combination for a wide range of tones. Great Fender playability in a unique & vintage-inspired package. Luthier Report Our ID: 1230725119680 Weight: 9.45lbs Serial: MZ8183262 Aesthetic Condition: Headstock: Overall very good condition. Mild to moderate indentation is present around the perimeter of the headstock, most notable at the top rear edge and bass side front edge near the nut where the finish is lightly pierced. Further, lighter indentation is present to the top of the front face which is visible under close scrutiny. Light scratching to all aspects of the headstock is visible under direct light. Neck: Overall very good condition. A lacquer crack is present at the bass side of the truss rod channel or ‘skunk stripe’, running from frets 1-3. This has been tested and presents no structural concern. The crack is lightly felt under the thumb in the playing position but does not impact the overall playability of the instrument. Light indentation to the rear of the neck which does not pierce the finish is scattered throughout the register, not impacting playability. The binding shows slight discoloration, most notable to the treble side. Body: Overall very good condition. Mild to moderate chipping of the finish exposes the wood at both strap buttons. A lacquer crack can be seen at the centre of the neck pocket. This has been tested and presents no structural concern. Light to mild indentation and scratching is consistent across the body, in places lightly piercing the finish but not exposing the wood. This is most notable at either side of the lower bout. Mild scratching to all aspects of the body is most notable at the waist of the front face consistent with playwear. This causes a mild hazing of the finish beside the bridge pickup. Condition of Frets: The frets demonstrate very light signs of use, not affecting playability. There is considerable material remaining for any future fret work the new owner may wish to perform. Current Set Up: Truss Rod: Fully functional & can be adjusted Hardware: Very good condition, with mild to moderate scratching and tarnishing of the metal hardware. The pickup polepieces show milder oxidation. The middle pickup also shows scratching consistent with the use of a pick. Structural: No concerns or issues to note. Height of the string from the 12th Fret-2mm - Bass 2.5mm Please be aware that the action on a guitar may move slightly in transit and this measurement is the current height. Strings on Guitar - 45-100 Electrics: Fully functional. Case & Accessories: Hiscox hard case. Excellent condition with light cosmetic wear. The case latches have lost some of their ‘spring’, and some require more manual handling to open them. The catches remain functional and keep the case closed as intended. Truss rod tool not included.
