Made in Japan in 2019, this bolt-on constructed guitar consists of a Basswood body, a Maple neck, and a 22-fret Granadillo fingerboard. Other appointments include Gotoh vintage-style tuners, Chrome hardware, an FGN 2-point Vintage Tremolo bridge, and a set of Seymour Duncan HSS pickups. These pickups are wired to a master volume, master tone, a 5-way pickup selector, and a split-coil switch. The Granadillo fingerboard on the FGN J Standard Odyssey has a rather flat feel to it which aids in a lot less stress with bending strings at the higher registers of the instrument. The slightly thicker than usual 'U' shaped neck has a semi-gloss finish and a substantial feel. It provides the ability to move quickly around the neck, however gives the necessary grip for your thumb to find a comfortable position no matter what register you're in. The Seymour Duncan pickups offer a broad range of tones, with the SH-4 humbucker at the bridge offering a tight and powerful sound that pushes the front end of an amplifier, balancing well with the Seymour Duncan single coil pickups in the neck and middle positions offer all the soloing clarity you could wish for, with sweet sustain and a warm, full sound that still possesses a clear attack providing a hot output delivering smooth, fluid solo tones under gain, while still being capable of bell-like clean tones. The split-coil switch adds that extra dash of versatility into the mix, allowing the player to delve deeper into this guitar's potential.
