Fylde Magician Gloss Natural All-Solid Handmade 2007

This guitar is a commission sale - if you have a high end guitar you are interested in selling, please contact us via our easy to find website - search: Sell Us Your Guitar. Here for sale we have a Fylde Magician electro-acoustic guitar from 2007 in Gloss Natural finish. Handmade in the UK since 1973, Fylde Guitars are the product of luthier Roger Bucknall's passion, experience and fine eye for detail. These instruments can be found in the hands of some of the world's most highly regarded acoustic artists, from Ken Nicol to Gordon Giltrap. Made in the UK, this instrument features an all-solid construction comprising a Western Red Cedar top, English Walnut back and sides, 5pc laminated Mahogany, Walnut & Ash neck and 21 fret Ebony fingerboard with matching bridge. The body is double-bound in Rosewood, whilst the top is adorned with handsome Marquetry purfling and rosette. A Bone saddle & nut are fitted, along with a set of Gold plated Gotoh tuning machines with Pearloid buttons. A Headway PEQ active direct output under saddle piezo is also installed for recording or amplified playing. The 5pc laminated neck plays exceptionally well. Beautifully crafted from a fine selection of tonewoods, the neck is carved into a rather shallow 'V' shape profile. The 'V' profile is often overlooked amongst the numerous 'Low Oval' and 'C' shape profiles which are ubiquitous today. This is a shame because it's a highly ergonomic profile with a distinctive character and feel. Whilst certainly on the slimmer side, the profile of the Fylde Magician retains enough thickness to sustain a firm grip when chord playing, and inspires confidence for rhythm playing. The Ebony of the fingerboard is a luxurious appointment, matched with elegant Pearl dot inlays for a seriously premium feel. With a traditional 16" radius and what seem to be vintage frets, the playing experience is smooth and responsive across the register. The acoustic tone of the Fylde Magician is rich and bright, whilst retaining plenty of low end warmth and character. The fine selection of tonewoods used in its construction resonate beautifully, with the English Walnut back and sides informing the sound with an organic unique flavour which is distinctly Fylde. The Western Red Cedar top projects very well, producing a warmer sound than a typical Spruce top whilst maintaining plenty of definition and precision for a detailed, balanced sound. The larger body size produces plenty of volume as well as a strong bass response, responding just as well to soft playing as it does loud strumming. The Headway PEQ undersaddle piezo pickup faithfully conveys the acoustic voice of the Magician, adding the versatility required for both live and recording situations. A finely crafted instrument with Fyldes' premium unique feel. Luthier Report Our ID: 1310525104592 Weight: 4.5lbs Serial: 7450 Aesthetic Condition: Headstock: Overall very good condition. The front face demonstrates a mild indentation at the bass side edge beside the D tuner which chips and cracks the finish slightly. The top edge demonstrates some scuffing and indentation which does not pierce the finish. Neck: Overall very good condition. The rear of the neck demonstrates very light indentation infrequently throughout the register. This is most concentrated to the center of the neck behind the 9th fret where it can be slightly felt under the thumb. Some playwear in the early register of the fingerboard cannot be felt under the fingers. A very small gap is visible between the heel cap and the body. This does not flex under pressure, remaining entirely stable and presenting no structural concern. Body: Overall good condition. Notable wear beneath the strings and to the edge of the soundhole reveals the wood beneath. In the worst areas, the top has thinned due to this wear. Consistent moderate indentation continues down the face across the lower bout, piercing the finish in places. The sides and rear face of the instrument demonstrate consistent light scratching and indentation, most notable to the treble side where consistent indentation can be felt under the finger. These markings are visible only under direct lighting at certain angles. Condition of Frets: The frets demonstrate notable signs of use in the early register, with indentation and flattening of the crowns quickly improving as you climb the register. There is a small amount of material remaining for future fret work. A level and re-crown to alleviate the indentations in the frets should be possible. Current Set Up: Truss Rod: Fully functional. Truss rod tool (5/16" socket) not included. Hardware: Fully functional with light signs of wear. Structural: No concerns or issues to note. Height of the string from the 12th Fret-2mm - Bass 2.5mm Please be aware that the action on a guitar may move slightly in transit and this measurement is the current height. Strings on Guitar - 11-52 There is a small amount of material remaining in the saddle for future adjustments. Electrics: Fully functional. 9v battery not included. Case & Accessories: Hiscox hard case The case demonstrates mild signs of use. The lining is beginning to separate from the cavity cover inside the case. The case remains fully functional. Truss rod too not included.
