This guitar is a commission sale - if you have a high end guitar you are interested in selling, please contact us via our easy to find website - search: Sell Us Your Guitar. Here for sale we have a lightly modified Gibson Les Paul Classic '1960' electric guitar in Cherry Sunburst finish. Made in the USA in 2004, this guitar features a set-neck construction comprising a traditionally weight-relieved Mahogany body with Carved Pain Maple top, Mahogany neck and 22 fret Rosewood fingerboard, inlaid with aged 'Snot Green' Trapezoids. This guitar is fitted with Nickel hardware including A Nashville Tune-O-Matic bridge, StopBar Tailpiece and Gibson Deluxe tuning machines with 'Tulip' Keystone buttons. Special features of this particular model include '1960' engraved pickguard, '60s SlimTaper neck profile and 'Les Paul Classic' silkscreen headstock logo. A pair of Gibson humbuckers are installed, with a Burstbucker 2 in the neck and Burstbucker 3 in the bridge. These are wired to the traditional Les Paul controls. The Mahogany neck plays exceptionally well, with the '60s SlimTaper profile offering a refined playing experience over the traditional '60s profile. It's certainly a neck that lends itself well to a wide variety of styles; substantial enough to sustain a comfortable grip for chord playing, yet slim enough for fast, articulate playing. The 12" fingerboard radius is as comfortable and practical as ever, with the Rosewood offering a smooth and sumptuous surface under the fingers. The aged inlays are a nice touch, reminding you of the prestige of the instrument while navigating the 24.75" scale. Whilst the body is weight-relieved, the weight remains a healthy 9.1lbs - ensuring an authentic Les Paul playing experience. The pair of Gibson humbuckers installed in this guitar deliver thick, full-bodied tones that are unmistakably Les Paul. The neck position is round and smooth, with plenty of low end and a broad midrange that is perfect for your solo tones and lead lines. The bridge position offers brighter sounds, cutting through the mix easily and saturating into a rich distortion as you drive the amp. The Les Paul has long been famed for its incredible sustain, and this particular guitar easily lives up to those expectations with seemingly endless amounts of buttery long notes ringing out. The controls are nice and responsive, allowing you to dial in a wide range of tones without going anywhere near a pedalboard. It's easy to see why this is such a well regarded model within the Les Paul line up, delivering a refined yet authentically vintage playing experience, tone and vibe. Luthier Report Our ID: 1021024504816 Weight: 9.1lbs Serial: 040789 Aesthetic Condition: Headstock: Overall very good condition. Mild to moderate scratching and indentation of the front face is visible under direct light. This is most notable around the machine heads. Lighter scratching to the other faces of the headstock is visible under direct light and close scrutiny. The bass side top corner of the headstock shows very light indentation which light pierces the finish. A very light crack in the lacquer is present at the treble side rear face which presents no structural concern. Neck: Overall very good condition. Light indentation and scratching to the rear of the neck is apparent throughout the register, most notably at the bass side behind the 9th fret where the wood is slightly exposed. This marking can be felt under the thumb but does not impact the overall playability of the instrument. Light ‘blooming’ or clouding of the finish is present throughout the rear. Any markings to the fingerboard are difficult to discern. Body: Overall very good condition. All aspects of the body demonstrate light to mild indentation and scratching, piercing the finish in places. This is most notable at the treble side edge of the front face near the controls where a finish repair has been completed to an amateur standard, covering the exposed wood but not blending particularly well with the surrounding finish. Further chipping which exposes the wood can be seen at the treble side bridge post and at the waist between the pickups. The rear face shows some light chipping at the treble side edge of the lower bout, as well as light indentation to the centre consistent with buckle rash. Condition of Frets: The frets demonstrate mild signs of use, not affecting playability. Very light indentation is apparent in the early register and flattening of the crown is present throughout. There is moderate material remaining for any future fret work the new owner may wish to perform. Current Set Up: Truss Rod: Fully functional. Truss Rod Tool (5/16" Wrench) included. Hardware: Excellent condition. The bridge has been replaced with a Nashville bridge and the stopbar with a lightweight nickel one. The machine heads have been replaced with Grovers. No original hardware included. Structural: No structural concerns. Height of the string from the 12th Fret-1.5mm - Bass 2mm Please be aware that the action on a guitar may move slightly in transit and this measurement is the current height. Strings on Guitar - 10-46 Electrics: Fully functional. The pickups have been replaced with a Gibson Burstbucker 2 & 3 set. The original pickups are included in the case. Case & Accessories: Original Gibson Hard Case The case displays signs of previous use with scuff marks and general wear and tear.Truss rod tool and original pickups included in the case.
