Here for sale we have a very special Gibson Les Paul Custom 1957 LPB-3 in Alpine White finish. Made in the USA in 2009 in the famed ‘Good Wood Era’ where Gibson improved both the quality of manufacturing and the instruments they created, Gibson produced what some people arguably would call the best Gibson’s produced. The Gibson Les Paul Custom's visual appearance alone is a statement of style and elegance and this particular guitar is no exception due to its Alpine White, 3-pickup rarity. Naturally this guitar features a set-neck construction comprising a Mahogany body with a Carved Maple top, Mahogany neck and a 22 Medium Jumbo fret Ebony fingerboard. This instrument is equipped with a ABR-1 Tune-O-Matic bridge and a Stop Bar tailpiece, along with a set of Gold Grover tuning machines. A trio of Gibson 57 Classic humbuckers are featured with a 3-way selector switch and controls for neck volume and tone and bridge/middle volume and tone The Mahogany neck plays fantastically well, substantial profile which lives up to it's '50s Rounded 'C' name. The neck exudes character, providing a playing experience which is unique amongst the slimmer profiles which have become ubiquitous today. The thickness of the profile means a firm grip can be sustained on chords, riffs and rhythm playing. Lead lines and solos are easily possible, with a very real sense of personality to the instrument which informs the way it is played. The Ebony fingerboard has a tight grain and dark appearance, and in conjunction with the Block Mother of Pearl inlays and overall look of the instrument ensures a luxurious playing experience. The familiar lines of the Les Paul body are as comfortable in the arms as ever, whilst the reassuring weight of this guitar at 10.35lbs provides an authentically vintage feel. The trio of Gibson 57 Classic humbuckers in this guitar offer warm and rich tones, the 57 Classic neck humbucker is thick and creamy, saturating beautifully into full-bodied distortion as you crank the gain whilst turning the volume and tone controls provides a crisp, crystalline clean tone. The middle position provides a punchy, tight midrange great for chordal styles of playing whilst being able to cut through a mix. The 57 Classic humbucker in the bridge position produces a clear and articulate top end, balancing very well with a punchy output, providing a great feel and clarity, allowing the player to achieve a wide variety of tones all at the fingertips, the bridge position is of course brighter, and can handle some serious gain for a filthy, saturated tone on those rock rhythm parts and riffs. The controls are very responsive, allowing you to dynamically control your tone whilst playing. Another perfect example of Gibson proving why the guitars they produced in the ‘Good Wood Era’ are second to none.
