Here for sale we have a Godin Soldiac in Trans Red finish. Made in Canada in 2001, this guitar features a bolt-on construction comprising a Maple body, Mahogany neck and 22 fret Rosewood fingerboard. A Chrome 2-point tremolo bridge is fitted, along with Godin Front-Loaded locking tuning machines. A trio of Godin pickups are installed, with a GHN1 humbucker in the neck, GS1 single coil in the middle pickup, a GHB1 humbucker in the bridge and a L.R. Baggs X-Bridge. These are wired to a 5-way blade switch, master volume and tone controls and a Bridge Transducer that controls the L.R. Baggs bridge. The Mahogany neck plays very well, with a profile that might be described as a thin 'C' shape. The neck certainly feels nice and slim, and lends itself well to more technical styles of playing without sacrificing the character of the playing experience. The Rosewood fingerboard is pleasant under the fingers and provides a smooth and durable playing surface right the way up the register. The 16" radius is flat enough for articulate lead lines and string bending whilst remaining round enough to be comfortable when chord playing. The Godin humbucker in the neck position sounds thick and full, with a rich low end great for rhythm tonalities. The Godin single-coil in the middle position provides a punchy, tight midrange great for chordal styles of playing whilst being able to cut through a mix. The Godin humbucker in the bridge position produces a clear and articulate top end, balancing very well with a punchy output, providing a great feel and clarity, allowing the player to achieve a wide variety of tones all at the fingertips. The L.R. Baggs X-Bridge gives you access to acoustic guitar tones. The top edge demonstrates consistent light indentation and some chipping of the finish. This continues to a lesser degree around the perimeter of the headstock. Neck: Overall good condition, several chips to the finish are apparent to the rear of the neck. The worst of these is behind the 7th fret to the treble side of the neck. This cannot be felt in playing position. Indentation is apparent throughout the register which can be felt under the thumb in playing position, more notably so in the early register. Body: Overall very good condition, the front face demonstrates consistent moderate to light scratching, most notable to the bass side shoulder. The sides and edges demonstrate light indentation, with the worst of these to the treble side of the lower bout which has cracked the finish. This should not worsen through regular use. The rear demonstrates consistent light scratching and indentation, most notably towards the bottom edge. Towards the bass side shoulder of the rear face there is some light buckle rash, not piercing the finish. Condition of Frets: The frets demonstrate moderate signs of use. Flattening of the crowns is apparent throughout the register. There is considerable material remaining for future fret work. Current Set Up: Truss Rod: Fully functional.
