Here for sale we have a Godin xtSA in Leaftop Dark Trans Red finish. Built in Canada in 2007, this hugely versatile guitar features bolt-on construction comprising a Silver Leaf Maple body centre with Poplar wings and a Figured Koa top, Mahogany neck and 22 fret Richlite fingerboard. The hardware fitted includes Godin Locking 18:1 machine heads, a Godin tremolo bridge with RMC transducer saddles, Godin humbuckers in bridge and neck position, a Godin single coil in the middle and a 13-pin midi output. The single coil and humbucking pickups are controlled by a master volume and tone and are selected with a 5-way blade switch. The piezo system is controlled by classic Godin sliders on the upper shoulder, with controls for volume, treble, middle and bass. The 13 pin synth output utilises its own volume pot. The Mahogany neck in satin finish feels smooth and quick in the hand, with a fairly soft ‘C’ profile that will feel comfortable to the vast majority of players. The 16" fingerboard radius feels nicely flat under the fingers and provides a comfortable surface for both chord playing and lead lines. This is further enhanced by the Medium Jumbo frets which provide improved string bending and vibrato feel. The single contoured cutaway gives great access to the upper register, whilst the smooth lines of the body feel comfortable in both seated and standing positions. The humbuckers have a bold and powerful output with solid lows, driving mids and articulate highs. The single coil in the middle position provides great contrast to the humbuckers, with glassy and clear tones available in positions 2, 3 and 4, with positions 2 and 4 splitting the coils of the humbuckers for traditional out-of-phase single coil sounds. Turn down the electric output and raise the volume on the LR Baggs transducer saddles and the xtSA becomes an incredibly authentic-sounding ‘acoustic’ guitar. The acoustic voice of the xtSA is enhanced by an onboard preamp with a three-band EQ. Also, the xtSA’s synth tracking, which simply put, is the best in the business. As with all of Godin synth-ready instruments, a built-in 13-pin connector provides direct access to all Roland GR-Series synths as well as most other 13-pin devices.
