Here for sale we have a Gordon Smith GS-1 electric guitar in Black Finish. Made in the United Kingdom, this guitar features a set-neck construction comprising a Mahogany body, a Mahogany neck and 22 Jumbo fret Rosewood fingerboard. This instrument is equipped with a Chrome Wrap-Around bridge, a Brass nut and a set of Schaller Deluxe tuning machines. The pickup installed is a made in the USA Trembucker which is wired to a master volume and a master tone control. The Mahogany neck sits comfortably in the hand, with the profile resembling a ‘D’ profile, feeling slim in the hand, allowing for easy fretting in any register and providing ergonomic thumb positioning up and down the neck. The Rosewood fingerboard is pleasant to the touch, and with its 14” radius makes bending and vibrato techniques a breeze, whilst offering a nice balance between comfortable chord playing and practicality for quick lead lines. The smaller, more compact size of the body makes it easier to play for extended periods of time compared to larger semi-hollow or hollow body guitars. The single Trembucker pickup installed in this guitar delivers a raw and throaty tone, with a warm low end and driving midrange that is complimented well by crisp and cutting highs. When turning the tone control down the pickup produces a roundness not dissimilar to a neck pickup which is perfect for solo tones, whilst adjusting the tone control up the brightness of the pickup will put your rhythm playing front and centre in the mix. The pickup is fantastic for pushing the front end of an amplifier, whilst offering excellent dynamic control. All aspects of the headstock displays light to mild scratching, indentations and haziness of the finish. The most noticeable indentations can be seen to the edges of the headstock, these have pierced through the finish exposing the wood beneath. A mild indentation is present to the front face above the G tuning machine, this has not broken through the finish. Neck: Overall very good condition. All aspects of the neck displays light to mild scratching, indentations and haziness of the finish. Indentations are present to both the fingerboard and rear of the neck spanning the entire register. Some of the indentations to the rear of the neck have exposed the wood beneath the finish and can be felt under the thumb in the playing position, the indentations to the fingerboard can not be felt under the fingers in the playing positions. Body: Overall very good condition. All aspects of the body displays inconsistent light to moderate scratching, indentations and haziness of the finish. The most noticeable scratching can be seen to the front and rear face bass side edges, this has broken through the finish exposing the wood beneath. The rear face presents moderate indentations (buckle rash) near the bass side waist, this is consistent with moderate past use. Condition of Frets: The frets demonstrate notable signs of use, with indentation and flattening of the frets apparent throughout the register. This affects playability in the upper register. There is a very small amount of fret material remaining. Current Set Up: Truss Rod: Fully functional. Truss rod tool not included. Hardware: Overall very good condition. All aspects of the hard ware display light to moderate signs of past use. Glue residue is present to the pickup ring. Structural: No concerns or issues to note.
