Greco MR-800 Natural 1978 Electric Guitar

Here for sale we have a Greco MR-800 Electric Guitar in Natural finish. Made in Japan in 1978, this guitar consists of an Ash body, a Maple neck, and a 21-fret Rosewood fingerboard. Other appointments include a Wraparound bridge, Grover tuners, and a pair of Greco PU-0 humbucking pickups. These pickups are wired to two volumes, a master tone, and a three-way pickup selector. The Maple neck plays very well, with the 'D' profile sitting very comfortably in the hand and providing a smooth and responsive playing experience in all registers. The 1.716” nut width retains the traditional Les Paul string spacing, meaning that you are less likely to ‘fall off’ the board during string bending and vibrato techniques. The Rosewood fingerboard is pleasant under the fingers, whilst its 10” radius ensures a nicely flat and consistent playing surface right the way up the register. The Greco PU-0 humbucker in the neck position sounds thick and full, with a rich low end great for rhythm tonalities. The middle position provides a punchy, tight midrange great for chordal styles of playing whilst being able to cut through a mix. The Greco PU-0 humbucker in the bridge position produces a clear and articulate top end, balancing very well with a punchy output, providing a great feel and clarity, allowing the player to achieve a wide variety of tones all at the fingertips. Our ID: 1010825122081 Weight: 9lbs Serial: A788474 Aesthetic Condition: Headstock: Overall good condition, the top edge demonstrates consistent chipping of the finish and indentation that pierces the finish, both of these revealing the wood beneath. The front face demonstrates several light indentations and light scratching, some of which are only apparent under direct lighting at certain angles. Indentation and chipping is apparent to the perimeter of the headstock, most notably between the E machine head and the nut on the bass side edge. Neck: Overall good condition, the rear of the neck demonstrates light to moderate indentations throughout the register, some of which pierce the finish. These can be felt under the thumb in playing position. The fingerboard demonstrates light scratching and indentation throughout the register which are somewhat difficult to discern from the natural grain of the wood. These markings cannot be felt beneath the string. Body: Overall fair condition, all aspects of the body demonstrate notable chipping and indentation of the finish. This is most notable in the following areas: The bass side waist rear edge. The treble side rear edge. The front face lower bout. The treble side of the pickups. The binding to the treble side cutaway has separated, taking part of the finish with it and leaving a visible gap between binding and body. There is a finish crack and slight separation at the bass side of the fingerboard extension. Condition of Frets: The frets demonstrate light signs of use, with evidence of recent fret work that has been played in. There is some material remaining for future fret work. Current Set Up: Truss Rod: Fully functional. Truss rod tool (5mm hex) not included. Hardware: Fully functional with light signs of wear. The bridge has been replaced for a Faber low profile bridge. The original bridge is included, however using the original bridge results in a bottomed out action of bass 2.5mm treble 2mm. Structural: No concerns or issues to note. Height of the string from the 12th Fret-1.5mm - Bass 2mm Please be aware that the action on a guitar may move slightly in transit and this measurement is the current height.
