Here for sale we have a Gretsch G5420TG Electromatic Limited Edition hollow body electric guitar in Cadillac Green finish. Made in Korea in 2019 this instrument features a set-neck construction comprising a Laminated Maple body, Maple neck and 22 fret Rosewood fingerboard. Gold hardware is fitted including a Licenced Bigsby vibrato tailpiece, Adjust-o-matic bridge and open-geared tuning machines. A pair of Gretsch Black Top Filter'Tron humbucking pickups are installed, and are wired to a 3-way toggle switch, master volume, independent pickup volumes & a master tone control. The Maple neck plays very well, with Gretsch's Standard 'U' profile providing plenty of comfort and practicality across the register for a wide range of playing styles and techniques. The gloss finish to the rear works nicely with the Rosewood of the fingerboard to deliver a smooth, tactile playing surface to explore. The scale length is rather short at 24.6", reducing the string tension compared with Fender and Gibson instruments. This lends a slinky feel to the strings which makes the instrument feel incredibly easy to play. The hollow body is on the large side, but is slim enough to remain comfortable in both standing and seated playing positions. The pair of Gretsch Black Top Filter'Tron humbucking pickups use ceramic magnets to produce a higher output than their AlNiCo counterparts. This means they easily drive your amp to breakup for a perfect rockabilly, blues or even rock tone. The neck pickup is round and smooth, whilst the bridge is of course brighter for those snappy rhythm parts. The hollow body construction of the instrument delivers an open and airy tone, and helps to improve the dynamic response. Plenty of unique Gretsch character in an exclusive, beautiful finish. Some very light indentation and scuffing is present to the top rear edge. Any other markings to the headstock are difficult to discern. Neck: Overall excellent condition. The treble side of the neck pocket displays light lacquer cracks. These have been tested and present no structural concerns. The fingerboard shows light indentation and scratching throughout, most notably at the treble side of the 18th fret. Body: Overall excellent condition. Light lacquer cracks are present at the bass side shoulder at the side of the instrument. These present no structural concern. The rear face shows light scratching consistent with light buckle rash. Condition of Frets: The frets display light signs of use, not affecting playability. There is considerable material remaining for any future fret work the new owner may wish to perform. Current Set Up: Truss Rod: Fully functional. Truss Rod Tool (4mm Hex) not included. Hardware: Excellent condition with light tarnishing of the metal hardware, most notably the control knobs.
