Here for sale we have a Guild D-140 acoustic guitar in Gloss Natural finish. Made in China in 2021, an all-solid set-neck construction is featured, and comprises a Sitka Spruce top, African Mahogany back and sides,Mahogany neck and 20 fret Rosewood fingerboard with matching bridge. The body is double bound, whilst the top features multi-strip purfling and rosette, as well as a handsome tortoiseshell pickguard. Chrome hardware is fitted including a set of Guild Vintage 18 Open Gear tuning machines. The Mahogany neck plays very well, with a ‘C’ profile which fills the hand nicely for a substantial yet easily manageable grip, well suited to both chordal and melodic playing styles. The Rosewood of the fingerboard is pleasant under the fingers, and with its traditional 16" radius is practical for a wide range of playing techniques. The nut width at 1.753" ensures easy reach across the register whilst maintaining ample string spacing for accurate fretting. The acoustic voice of the Guild D-140 is rich and powerful, delivering crystalline chords when strumming that would be equally at home as a solo instrument or part of an ensemble. The Solid African Mahogany back and sides produce a brightness which adds clarity to the overall tonel. The low end is warm without being too soft, the mid range is punchy and clear, whilst the treble response adds a shimmer and sparkle to every note played on the instrument. There is plenty of dynamic range to be found in this guitar, with the Solid Spruce top projecting very well and feeling nicely responsive to the player's touch.
