Here for sale we have an Ibanez AS-63 semi-hollow electric guitar in Mint Blue finish. Made in Indonesia in 2018, this guitar features a set-neck construction comprising a Laminated Sapele body, Nyatoh neck and 22 fret Laurel fingerboard. Chrome hardware is fitted including a TOM-style bridge and stop tail, alon with Ibanez die-cast tuning machines. A pair of Ibanez Infinity passive ceramic humbucking pickups are installed, and are wired to a 3-way toggle switch, master volume and master tone controls. The Nyatoh neck pays very well, with the AS Artcore profile filling the hand nicely for a substantial grip across the register. The profile might be described as a moderately large 'C' shape, which inspires confidence when chord playing whilst remaining slim enough for articulate lead lines. The gloss finish to the rear of the neck assists with smooth navigation of the 24.75" scale, whilst the double-cutaway body design enhances access to the upper frets. The Laurel of the fingerboard is pleasant under the fingers, and with its traditional 12" radius is practical for both chordal and melodic playing styles. The pair of Ibanez Infinity humbucking pickups deliver thick and full bodied tones, well suited to rock and blues playing. The neck is round and warm, working very well for lead lines and solos, whilst the bridge pickup is brighter, and can saturate into a searing distortion tone which is perfect for rock rhythm playing and riffing. There are also some very nice clear clean tones to be found here too, with shimmering warmth available from the neck and bright glassy sounds in the bridge. A high quality instrument on a budget, just as we've come to expect from Ibanez. Light to mild scratching to the front face is visible under direct light, as is common with high gloss finishes. Any other markings are difficult to discern. Neck: Overall excellent condition. Light indentations are present at the very end of the fingerboard extension which cannot be felt under the fingers. Any markings to the rear of the neck are difficult to discern. Body: Overall excellent condition. Mild lacquer cracking to the front face is present at the bass side beside the F hole. Very light scratching to all aspects of the body is visible under direct light, as is common with high gloss finishes. This is most notable to the center of the rear face. Any other markings are difficult to discern. Condition of Frets: The frets show mild signs of use, not affecting playability. Denting and flattening of the frets is apparent in the early register. There is moderate material remaining for any light fret work the new owner may wish to perform. Current Set Up: Truss Rod: Fully functional. Truss rod tool (4mm hex) not included. Hardware: Overall very good condition. The tune-o-matic bridge has been replaced, the original is not included. All of the hardware displays light signs of past use.
